Harry Potter is without a doubt one of the most successful franchises based on any number of books, and its good to know that J.K. Rowling isn't slowing down any time soon. Although she's content to leave the world of Harry Potter as it is for the time being, we've been introduced to several other ventures outside of the main film and book series:

  • We've seen the Cursed Child appear on Broadway
  • The Fantastic Beasts were discovered and we learned where to find them
  • The North American wizard houses were introduced
  • We can finally discover what our Patronus and Wand would be

And that's really just the tip of the magical power that the world of Harry Potter has introduced to millions of fans across the world, but it looks as though fans of the wizarding world of Harry Potter could be in store for some great news in the near future.

Warner Bros struck a deal back in August of 2016 to acquire the rights to both the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts film franchises, which would allow NBC and SyFy to air all eight Harry Potter films and the recently released Fantastic Beasts. As it seems, Warner Bros. retained the rights to publish Harry Potter video games, and with the $200 million the company earned because of the NBC deal, it appears that Warner Bros. are looking more closely at the future of the wizarding game world.

At least that's what it seems that Warner Bros is brewing (sorry, not sorry) when they listed a job opening for a Senior Game Writer for Avalanche Software's Story Department. The posting lists several hints that make fans believe that WB and Avalanche are planning a new Harry Potter experience, since the posting wants an applicant who has a "deep understanding of British culture."

Now that's not to say this is written in stone as absolute proof, but considering that Avalanche has been responsible for primarily games based on movie franchises like Toy Story 3: The Video Game, Cars 2, Bolt and Disney Infinity; it's a fair assessment to make.

Even further rumor stirring points to another several listings on the Careers page of Warner Bros.:

  • Senior Game Designer, Systems and Economy
  • Senior Environment Artist, Unreal
  • Senior Visual FX Artist, Unreal
  • Lead Animator, Unreal
  • Infrastructure Engineer

With all these positions posted since March 2017, it sure looks as though Warner Bros and Avalanche Software are gearing up for a new game, likely a role playing adventure for the most famous wizard in recent history.
