Originally having premiered on the Xbox One, Titanfall is a series that struggled in the beginning to captivate fans the way it should have. With a faltering focus on where the DLC should be, Titanfall troubled itself with a season pass and the lack of a campaign. While there was some story embedded within Titanfall, it truly was troubled in establishing its own identity, and unfortunately it was something that ultimately began to lead to the games downfall due to the paid DLC. Later in its life it began to succeed once the DLC went free and causing fans to flock to the title.

But what makes Titanfall 2 so unique among its predecessor and what makes it more relevant than any shooter in the current ones available? You'll have to check out this list in order to understand why it stands out.

#3: Titanfall 2's free DLC will change the way you see the game.

DLC has always been an issue when it comes to any game available. Upon purchasing any new games, many of us commonly question ourselves on whether or not we should purchase a games Season Pass in order to save that $5 to $10 dollars on content. This easily rivals those annual purchasers of Call of Duty or even franchise fans of Battlefield. The content comes at a steep price, something we never saw before the last generation of consoles. We were used to seeing games complete, offering up a massive amount of content that no one else would have thought possible, and within the past two generations, we've seen that taken away from us for paid DLC options.

With recent announcements from Respawn Entertainment and their publisher Electronic Arts, their game is forgoing the idea of having a Titanfall 2 Season Pass. Their ideology behind this is one that is quite understandable for any of you that purchase Season Passes quite often. When you buy a game? You get all the content that comes with it. You get all the would-have-been paid options if they were to have been released that way. Yes - free. This i something that Respawn Entertainment has been very open about since the release of their games and it breaks the trend we commonly see and could quite possible force other developers to follow suit.

#2: 'Titanfall 2' goes back to classic shooter loadouts.

Departing Titanfall 2 from Call of Duty has been something that must have required quite a bit of work from Vince Zampella and Jason West before West left Respawn. The game forgoes the idea of what Call of Duty has become with its "Pick 13 system". This is also a system many other shooters such as Battlefield 1 have ditched in order to allow fans to have the most enjoyable possibilities available.

Among the games that allow players to use their setups the way they wish, fans can also get their hands on their own custom setups whether it's weapons, titan abilities or even simply ability setups. To be honest, even the unlock system will remind many fans of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare of a time when working on unlocks was much simpler and enjoyable.

If you ever wondered how a game's campaign would play well into a multiplayer, Titanfall 2 does just this. Something that resonates similarly in Battlefield 1 where the story elements resonate deep within the games multiplayer elements. Let alone do fans get to storm through a story-rich environment, each of these massive battles take place in areas that can be linked to the games base campaign.

This element of design gives an idealistic approach to story, depth, and meaning within the game. It gives the game more purpose, more context, and more meaning behind the experiences fans will have as they storm through canyons, across ravines, and find themselves cloaking in order to get away from their foes. If there's anything that screams truer than ever through this game, fans will understand it the moment I say that the bond between a titan and its pilot are of the up most importance as they take across battlefields.

Closing Thoughts - 'Titanfall' imminent.

While there is plenty to be said about how unique Titanfall 2 is in the fact Respawn Entertainment has shown a lot of love in their rather successful franchise. The question now is a matter of if the series will remain alive with plenty of content in the foreseeable future. For those of you who have purchased the game, it's going to seem as if we get to see a bright future ahead of us with it. For those still waiting to get your hands on it, rest assured that Titanfall 2 will keep you busy for months if not years to come.
