They also drink 10 gallons of water a day. – During the dry season, elephants eat bark from trees.

They also use their trunks to dig for roots and tubers. – When there is plenty of water, elephants drink and process 50 gallons of water per day. When water is scarce, they may only drink enough to fill their stomachs. – Elephants consume a lot of different foods in a day. They eat a wide variety of grasses, leaves, fruits, roots, and tree bark.
