HONEY NEVER SPOILS
Did you know that honey never spoils? Archaeologists have found pots of honey in ancient Egyptian tombs that are over 3,000 years old and still perfectly edible. It's all thanks to the magical combination of low moisture, acidity, and the natural presence of hydrogen peroxide in honey. This trifecta creates an environment that's basically the nemesis of bacteria and spoilage. So, if you stumble upon a jar of honey from the time of pharaohs, feel free to give it a taste (but maybe check for curses first, just to be safe!). Bees manufacture it by collecting nectar, which is then broken down into simple sugars stored within the honeycomb. The magic begins here. The bees use their wings to fan the honeycomb, inducing evaporation of the water in the nectar. This process increases the sugar concentration, making it highly inhospitable for microbial growth.

The Life of a Black Hole
The Life of a Black Hole Black holes possess a captivating allure, both in a literal sense and as a subject of discussion. Every aspect surrounding them is peculiar and extreme, constantly revealing new revelations. However, even the most fundamental aspects of black holes are remarkably astounding. It is plausible that you may have never received an introduction to them. Hence, today, we shall return to the basics and delve into what black holes truly are, how they come into existence, and how they meet their demise. Let us commence at the very beginning and precisely define the nature of a black hole. A black hole refers to a region within space where the gravitational force is so immensely powerful that anything entering it becomes trapped, unable to escape. This includes even the swiftest entity in the universe, light. Once light crosses the point of no return, known as the event horizon, it is unable to reemerge. Consequently, black holes remain entirely imperceptible to external observers like us. You may be curious as to how we ascertain their existence, especially considering that we have even captured images of them, which garnered significant attention in the media.

Banaban Tradition of Frigate Bird Snaring / Taming
Today, the majority of the Banaban community resides on Rabi Island, Fiji, with only around 300 Banabans inhabiting their homeland in the Kiribati Islands group. The traditional Banaban ritual of te kabwane eitei, also known as frigate bird snaring, has been lost due to various factors. These include the introduction of Christianity in the late 1980s, the arrival of te I-Matang's (Europeans) in 1900 following the discovery of phosphate, and the forced removal of Banabans from their homeland by invading Japanese forces in 1943 during World War II.
