* Puberty Series Part 1: The Brain's Alarm Has Been Set*

Until yesterday, you were playing in the street, laughing with friends, living a carefree life.

But today, when you look at yourself in the mirror, it seems like something has changed.

Your voice is not the same as before, your height has suddenly increased, and your mood is also sometimes up and sometimes down.

Sometimes you are angry, sometimes you are strangely sad, sometimes you are happy for no reason.

What is all this happening?

This is not magic, nor is it a sudden change.

All this is happening because of a secret system inside your body—a system that has been silent since childhood, and has now become active.

---

## The Secret Control Room of the Brain

There is a small part inside your brain, which seems insignificant, but actually controls the entire body.

This part decides when you will be hungry, when you will sleep, and how you will feel.

This is the part that turns off the puberty system in childhood, like turning off the main switch of a machine.

But this switch is not always off.

As you get older, your body gets stronger, and your energy reserves increase, this system gradually starts to develop.

## When does this system turn on?

Puberty does not come suddenly, but the body checks a few things:

* Has the age reached the appropriate level?

* Does the body have enough energy to handle the changes?

* Are the sleep and body systems working properly?

When these three things are in place, the brain decides:

“Now is the time.”

And that is the moment when the “alarm goes off.”

## The first signal: the beginning of change

As soon as the alarm goes off, the brain releases a special chemical signal.

This signal is actually a hormone, which wakes up the entire system.

This hormone goes to another part of the brain, which works to control hormones.

From there, two important signals are released, which travel through the blood to the lower part of the body.

These signals reach directly to the testicles, and there they start a new activity.

# Testicles: Factory of Change,

In childhood, the testicles are silent, like a factory that has been shut down.

But as soon as the brain receives a signal, this factory starts working again.

Two important tasks begin here:

1. Making male hormones

2. Making sperm

This male hormone is the one that actually causes major changes in the body.

## Major changes in the body

When this hormone enters the blood, it travels throughout the body and leaves its effect everywhere.

### Voice changes

The throat starts to become stronger and thicker, which makes the voice deeper.

Sometimes the voice breaks, which is perfectly normal.

### Height growth spurt

Bone growth begins rapidly, and you can grow quite tall in a single year.

### Skin changes

The skin begins to produce more oil, which can cause acne on the face.

### Body hair

Soft hair gradually becomes thicker and more defined—in the armpits, pubic area, and face.

### Mind and emotions

Emotions become more intense.

You may get angry over small things, or you may suddenly feel sad.

This is all due to hormones.

## First signs: How do you know?

Puberty begins with some clear signs:

* Testicle enlargement

* Light hair growth

* Rapid height growth

These are all signs that your body is moving on from childhood.

# Nightfall (Ihlat): The Real Truth

This is a topic that is often misunderstood.

In simple words:

* The body produces sperm every day

* When there are too many of them, the body expels them on its own

* This process mostly happens during sleep

This is called nightfall or Ihlat.

The important thing is that:

* It is completely normal

* It does not cause any weakness

* It is not a disease

It is actually a natural way of the body, through which it maintains balance within itself.

# Why does all this happen so quickly?

Sometimes it seems that everything is happening very quickly.

But there is a natural reason behind it.

The human body is designed in such a way that it matures quickly at a certain age, so that it can prepare for the next stages of its life.

That is why the changes during puberty are rapid.

(3 simple lines)

1. The brain gives a signal, which starts the production of hormones

2. These hormones bring about various changes in the body and make you an adult

3. Sleep is a natural process, which is necessary for the balance of the body

# In the next part

In Part 2 we will discuss:

* Why do pimples appear on the face?

* Why do anger and mood swings occur?

* Why do we feel attraction?

And also give scientific answers to some important questions
