Little secret symbology for some.

The great strength of Freemasonry has always been that it is a secret society. Although one cannot strictly speak of a secret society when its address is in the telephone directories, it must, at least, be discreet. This fact, however, is not the case. Today, Masonic symbols are already so vulgarized that only the fact that the Freemason has a pressing need to declare himself as such before society is what justifies their use.

Freemasonry has forms of identification for Freemasons. These forms, which we Masons are well aware of, are no longer justified, except on rare occasions. Masonic symbols are on the windshield of cars, on the lapel of the jacket or shirt, on the pen, on the ring, on the cord, everywhere and in the most varied forms. Even the traditional identification through signature is already too common. As soon as you put three dots in the signature, someone asks you if you are a Freemason. How to say it isn't, if you're a walking bazaar with all the Masonic symbols.

The Freemasons of the past, those who introduced such things into Freemasonry, knew what they were doing, but today, all this has become vulgarized and is used because the Freemason has a pressing need to flaunt his Masonic status, not for Freemasons, as he should. , but for the profane, for society. In a country town, everyone knows who is a Freemason and who is not. But it shouldn't be like that. It is necessary for the Freemason to know that if he wants social status, the place is not Freemasonry; Masonry work must be discreet and not ostentation.

It is easy to see that many stores are very concerned about getting out on the news, saying that the Store did and happened in such an event. This, in my humble understanding, reveals a total ignorance of the goals of Freemasonry and, what is worse, it also reveals the Mason's ignorance of his role. Let's say that the Freemason is in need of the services of another Freemason, but if this one responds, soon there will be the contestation of those who were passed over who will shout to the four winds that it happened because both are Freemasons. So, even as a matter of common sense, the Freemason will not be able to serve you. And if he doesn't answer, he will be upset and disappointed.

Therefore, this vulgarization or profanity of the Order is aborting its principles and rendering it inoperative. It is necessary that we become aware of this and begin to abolish the ostentation of Masonic symbols, we have to identify ourselves with our brothers, but nowadays we identify ourselves much more with the profane.

My words:

Freemasonry is an essentially philosophical, philanthropic, educational and progressive institution and in addition to the most discreet and not secret, but why do some people make a point of publicly presenting themselves as macon? I think it's a bad idea. We don't need to tell everyone that we are Macons. I'm not Macon but I admire and have a Macon heart since I got to know this way of living and being a real human.

The freedom of individuals and human groups, be they institutions, races, nations; the equality of rights and obligations of beings and groups without distinguishing religion, race or nationality; the fraternity of all men, since we are all children of the same CREATOR and, therefore, human and as a consequence, the fraternity among all nations.

It's not about religion. It is a society that aims to unite men among themselves. Reciprocal union, in the broadest and highest sense of the term. And this effort to unite men, admits into its bosom people of all religious creeds without any distinction.
