Kiss a Ginger is today, January 12th. Whether you are a redhead or know someone who is; today is an uplifting day to offset “Kick a Ginger Day”. So, make sure you reach out to someone you know who is a redhead and of course, ask them if you can kiss them today.

Kiss a Ginger Day – Fun Tidbits

When I first heard about this day; I thought what a fun holiday!

Meanwhile, even if you are not a redhead; I have some fun tidbits to share with you.

  • Bees are known to be attracted to redheads.
  • At the same time, there are health benefits for men. A study was done by the British Journal of Cancer, and it was reported that men with red hair are less likely to develop prostate cancer than men with brown or blonde hair.
  • In addition, most redheads have less hair than other people. Moreover, most redheads have 90,000 strands of hair than people who have blond hair; tend to have 140,000 strands. Though, I know many redheads who have a gorgeous head of full hair; so I am not sure if that is true.
  • Additionally, the country with the most redheads is Scotland which is reported to be around 13% followed by Ireland at 10%. However, the United States has the largest number of redheads than any place in the world.
  • Another myth is people with red hair tend to be much more sensitive to pain. Consequently, this is due to the MC1R gene mutation that redheads tend to need more anesthesia for dental and medical procedures.
  • Also, redheads can produce Vitamin D in low sunlight inside their body
  • Most redheads usually have brown eyes however many have green eyes. The least common eye color is blue.
  • Finally, did you know many redheads are left-handed?

Colors to Wear if You are a Ginger

So, if you have red hair; your hair color may look different depending on the light.

Indeed, if you have bright strawberry blonde hair; you can wear bright colors such as fluorescent pink, orange, and bright yellow.

For instance, if your hair is auburn; you will look good in Autumn colors and warm tones. Also, copper is a great hue for auburn redheads.

Finally, if your hair shade is brownish-red; you can wear almost anything and of course, look great in all colors.

However, having red hair isn’t the only thing unique as many redheads probably won’t go grey. With this in mind, they will save a lot of money having to get their hair colored regularly.

Redhead or Not – Kiss a Ginger Today

Whether you are a redhead or not; you can still have a lot of fun today.
