Environment and animals are two important components that the earth consist. Large or small animals rely much on the environment who provides shelter and food. Even people rely their survival on what the environment can provide and seek emotional connection and company to animals.

But, funny how the environment and animals in recent times are less likely given enough care. For the past years, people are so focused on modernization resulting in destruction of nature and taking away the habitat of animals as well as wildlife and marine life.

When abuse is continuously made, this may impose potential harm to humans. Harm includes starvation, food crisis and inaccessibility to healthy and fresh air because these components contribute balance to the ecosystem.

Hence, various local charities make a difference in communities through a common mission on environmental conservation and animal protection against cruelty. Their missions might catch your heart to consider donating for the preservation of the environment and protection of animals.

Doberman Rescue Unlimited

I have ten dobermans on my own, as such is the reason why this is number one on my list. It is a nonprofit charitable organization that aims to provide protection and shelter for doberman breed who are victims of animal cruelty as well as abandoned and unwanted by pet owners and landlords.

Oceanhero supports partnerships with Plastic Bank which collects plastics and provides an avenue for the people to earn. Thus, reducing poverty at the same time.

Additionally, programs of Oceanhero include building recycled infrastructure by partnering with Trash Waste Solution which builds micro recycling plants in communities. Another initiatives which Oceanhero implement are educating and connecting with people.

This charity has a browser extension that features short messages and questions that highlights the importance of marine ecosystems as well as exposing issues on ocean pollution. Browser also features images that allow people to connect with the ocean and inspire them to be one of the stewards of oceans.

The Nature Conservancy

Scientists claimed that the climate is constantly changing and becoming worse over time, making everyone on earth affected. The Nature Conservancy is a charity with an end goal of conserving both land and water through reef restoration, planting trees and conserving wildlife.

This organization helps in finding and creating innovative and sustainable solutions in solving issues on climate change and loss of biodiversity. Apart from the ambitions of this charity, they encourage humanities to help by visiting preserved nature through hiking, make voices of the people be heard through taking an action pledge, volunteering opportunities and celebrating Earth Day every day.

Their target year to make a difference across the globe is at the end of 2030 - that is about eight years from now.

American Rivers

Rivers are one of the major sources for water accessibility and this time, rivers are becoming polluted due to industrial wastes. Hence, American Rivers prioritizes saving rivers through their movements and initiatives by addressing climate change, providing drinkable clean water for people who need, dam removals and river restorations and campaigns for river protection as well as support advocacies.

It was inspired by Elizabeth's story about her cat Alex, which made her realize that some pet owners only have the power to provide food and shelter but cannot provide veterinary care for pets when needed.

This is where a nonprofit organization named For the Love of Alex came to exist. This charity aims to provide emergency funds for life-saving veterinary care belonging to low-income families. This charity is unique among the others mentioned because they address the financial cost to own an animal.

They also educate and provide resources in relevance to pet health wellness as well as illness prevention among the pets. It is indeed a meaningful mission
