Mysterious faces

Do you think tourist traps are worth seeing simply for the sake of having an amazing imagination? Let's take a look at seven examples and decide after. In 1971, travel back in time to experience what life was like then.

When you live in a quiet town in Spain, all the houses have white walls, and the roads are Stone paved you're asleep but then you hear a neighbor screaming. What could have happened? On this Pleasant August morning, you get to your neighbor's house and see the already gathered crowd. The residents of the house claim that images of faces suddenly appeared on the floor. This is how the famous story of Bell Mass faces begins...the family said they tried to destroy the faces several times, but they kept appearing. Eventually, this became a huge deal among people and they started thinking that there was a paranormal phenomenon related to the house...the house became famous and hundreds of tourists began to visit it. In fact, it was advertised to the people as La Casa de las caras -- The House of the Faces for the next three decades...the family claimed that faces continue to appear. Faces vary by gender, shape, size, and even facial expression. Fishermen in Sri Lanka used to use wooden stilts embedded in the seafloor to fish in deeper waters without boats. However, they had to abandon this method after a natural disaster in 2004. Now, tourists can still see fishermen with wooden stilts on Sri Lanka's southern coast, but they are just posing for pictures and receiving tips. If you still want to witness this method, a few fishermen still use stilts on less crowded coasts. Bran Castle in Romania is famous for being associated with Count Dracula from Bram Stoker's novel. While the castle's appearance matches the description in the book, the author did not actually visit Romania and the castle depicted in the book is based on the Bran Castle. Despite this, the castle offers a glimpse into its historical roots and provides a spooky atmosphere with its old rooms and tunnels. Sleepy Hollow in the United States transformed itself into a tourist destination by embracing its spooky reputation. Although it doesn't have the Headless Horseman, visitors can experience a creepy atmosphere in this village. The transformation began in the mid-90s when the town, previously known as North Tarrytown, rebranded itself to attract tourists. The Bridge on the River Kwai, a famous movie from 1957, was actually filmed in a different location than the name suggests. The Burma Railway, which the movie depicts, didn't pass through Thailand's River Kwai but instead crossed the Mekong River. However, the government took advantage of the movie's popularity and renamed a section of the Mekong River to attract visitors. Despite the location discrepancy, the bridge holds historical significance and offers beautiful surroundings. Shangri-La, originally Zhong Dion, was renamed in 2001 to attract more tourists. The name Shangri-La comes from James Hilton's novel Lost Horizon, which described a utopian settlement. While the place is fictional, the area itself is worth visiting, with Tibetan-style houses and the opportunity to experience Tibetan culture. The Sherlock Holmes Museum in London, dedicated to the fictional detective, is not actually located at his famous address of 221B Baker Street. The real address of the building is 239 Baker Street, and the numbering system on Baker Street only goes up to the 100s. Despite this discrepancy, the museum offers a unique experience for fans of Sherlock Holmes. Thanks for reading, feel free to leave a comment about any other creepy tourist attractions you know.
