Mind Games: June 2021's Solar Eclipse in Gemini
On Thursday, June 10th, at 6:52 AM EST, there will be an annular Solar Eclipse at 19'47 degrees Gemini. It will be visible from Alaska, most parts of Canada, Greenland and the Russian Far East, as well as parts of northern Europe (such as Scandinavia) and the Northeast United States, affecting these parts of the world the most. Here's what to expect.
How to Survive Mercury Retrograde with Essential Oils:
Have things seemed a little crazy the last few days? Are you having trouble finding the words, getting where you're going, or making your Internet connection cooperate? You may be experiencing the effects of Mercury retrograde. Even if you are not much interested in astrology or don't believe in the metaphysical world, you are not free of the chaos that this astrological phenomenon can wreak.
Distance is a Fallacy
TRANSMISSION 53 We've finally done it. After months of sitting alone in this tiny remote outpost - has it just been months? It truly feels like it's been five years since I was sent to this isolated shed on the frontiers of oblivion - I finally have something substantive to report. I have received communication from a non-terrestrial source and, after many rounds of analysis, I can confirm with a <0.01% margin of error that the transmission was from an intelligent source. I have already broadcast the preplanned welcome message and am eagerly awaiting the response, which I will of course pass along to headquarters promptly as I receive it.
The vision had started again. Rough wooden planks. Flapping sails, slapping against the wind. The sense that the surface below her was not solid, not air, but something in between. Something she knew all too well.
Telepathy is a tricky thing. Everyone seems to have a pinch of it. People finish each other’s sentences, pictures flutter into the mind and those next to us start talking about our thoughts without us ever uttering a word. Were those thoughts broadcasted or were they received like a mental text message?
“Hello. My name is Kimmy. Welcome to our first date.” I straighten in my chair-- pull down my shirt, adjust my tie, smooth back whatever hair I have left. “Hi Kimmy,” I answer. “You’re... you're very beautiful.”
Above The Pale Blue Dot
The message came through with its usual exuberant blip. Nothing incessant, just a single, almost celebratory sound before relying on the blinking green light to capture her attention. Robin watched the green light, deciding whether it was smart to listen to the message now or after the evening was over. If she left it, there was plausible deniability: there can’t be an “I told you so” if they hadn’t told her; but then again, Robin was never good at leaving things to the unknown.
Chadwick Boseman Was Originally Supposed To Be in 'Mandalorian' Season 1 According to Concept Art
The Mandalorian is easily one of, if not the best, shows on Disney+ right now. It is also the best Star Wars show available on the platform. The adventures of Din Djarin and Grogu through the galaxy has been a great ride for fans everywhere. Mando hasn’t always been alone in his journeys, though. He has had a lot of help from friends, mentors, masters, enemies, and creatures along the way. These characters have also been brought to life by some truly fantastic actors and actresses, such as Carl Weathers as Greef Karga and Rosario Dawson as fan favorite Ashoka Tano. There have also been some cameos from equally impressive stars like Jason Sudeikis and Bill Burr. But fans have recently gotten a look at some early concept art for the show that reveals some more impressive stars we almost got in the series.
Somewhere, or perhaps sometime, in some distant land or alternate plane, there exists a world that is not round. Not round at all, but indeed very flat and very limited. Its inhabitants are accustomed to its shape. In fact, they have built their lives in straight lines, clean angles, sharp corners; hardly ever a man-made circle in sight. To them, time marches on in one linear path they all must follow. One is born, one lives, and one dies. That is the natural order of things.
A Dream Of An Idea
What are dreams? Do dreams come true? Can dreams predict the future? According to Medical News Today, "Dreams are stories and images that our minds create while we sleep. They can be entertaining, fun, romantic, disturbing, frightening, and sometimes bizarre."
Star Trek: The Orville
I love The Orville. It has a great dynamic between characters. There’s plenty of scifi. It’s a lot of fun. And overall, I’d say it’s scifi, and Trek, done right. I don’t think it was his intention, but MacFarlane, in trying to make a show that somewhat parodied Star Trek, while also being a homage to it, really did create a spiritual successor to Star Trek instead. This article is an updated version of my original review, written near the beginning of season one.
Explore Your Wonders
There are many things I could be doing. That long dirty checklist is fast in growing. Yet I live mostly in a savasana pose, dreaming about the adventures I’m living in a parallel life. Or perhaps, in a fantasy universe I created with my wondrous assistants: the clouds. Whom I watch zoom and shapeshift through the atmosphere faster than flies.
