The Remnant

Part One

The Remnant

Far from the coast and high in the mountains where you can see the clouds resting on the waters. Where the air is so pure and the grass so green that you could lose your way. A place where war has never touched, or if any ever passed through could never find again. That is if they returned the next day, the forest would have changed. They would never know that it was the same forest. Because this is a magic forest.

The inhabitants are all of two hands high. They are responsible for a great deal of things in this forest. One of which is that they are the keeper of all things magic. No, the glass slipper was not and is not magical. It is simply made of Ruby, pure and clean, like all things from the outer edge outside of the forest. For miles and miles, you will find gems and rubies that would catch a great price. Why would you need to travel farther? Now, you may think this is again a fairy tale, but let me tell you, that for surely it is not.

Keeping in mind the keepers of all the magic live and play in these woods, so this tail would not fair well without you knowing who they are. They are the EVERGALES. From the beginning of magic, the Evergales held the keys, as it were, to the magic strings for the magic Harps. To the beads in charm bracelets. This does not mean that all Harps and charm bracelets are magic—or are they? The list of things that contain magic goes on and on.

I would like to say that I knew just how this got started, however, I can only tell it as it were passed down to me from my family. On the fifth day of every month that has 30 days—no more, no less—it rains while the sun is still shining for 10 minutes. Five seconds later, a rainbow forms and the Eastern end of said rainbow shows the way to the road that leads to the door way that will take you to the outer edge of the forest.

Only one thing is stopping you: Andrew the leader, with all of the inhabitants behind him. No matter how close you get to the door, Andrew makes sure to keep you from reaching it in time. You can stand next to the door on any other day, yet all anyone else can see is this 14-inch man standing in the middle of the road.

So why are we talking about this place? Because something is coming. Something big. Something that has caused a vast migration of trees to come to the forest. Even the Dwarf Blue Arctic Willow to a Sequoia from all across the planet has come to this spot. Who is ever going to miss one tree? The first tree to arrive was the TREE OF LIFE and THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOOD AND EVIL. What do the trees know that the rest of the world does not?

No man or woman can begin to imagine what is on the horizon. The cities and streets are filled with people going about their day-to-day without a care in the world. Except, are they? Five o'clock on the west coast. Dan and Susan are walking through the house making their way to the door as their alarm clock is sounding off. Nearly 6,000 miles away, (5,763), Enzo and Adalene's plane has left the runway. Quietly, simultaneous couples across the world are going on an extended vacation.

Now what could all this mean? How are these events coming together? Who are those and where are they going? It would be safe to say that if you are not one of them, then you need to find a safe place. Any place other than Earth.
