The National Science Day

Embarking on a journey to commemorate National Science Day (28th February). As in 1928, Sir Chandrasekhara Venkata Raman made significant & historic contributions to science to revel in the Raman Effect. He further went on to receive a Nobel Prize for the discovery in the year of 1930. The event is extensively celebrated across numerous educational institutions, viz schools, colleges & universities. The joys of the joy are various themes that have been assigned with the National Science Day since the year 1999. This year’s 2021 theme is “Future of STI: Impacts on Education, Skill, and Work.”

On 28th February, we relive the achievement & advancement in science through the contributions of Sir Chandrasekhara Venkata Raman. The celebration on this day is not only to honour & recall the accomplishments made by Sir Chandrasekhara Venkata Raman and spread a message about the influence of science we have in our everyday life. On this day, every news article, television broadcast, radio message revolves around the theme of the year, which has a tremendous impact on the public. Various awards are being handed over the individuals and institutions for marking science more popular. Even monetary awards are present to individuals and institutions involved in promoting science.

The main objective is encouraging people & popularize science and technology, with it to adopt scientific methods in their day-to-day life use to make their life even more convenient and comfortable. It also creates a room for discussion of unfamiliar modern technology’s implementation for the development of science allowing the scientific-minded citizens of the country to present their opinion to the world & their country through published works & journals. The young scientists, inventors, writers are awarded & felicitated to keep up their great work. This simple day turns out to impact & influence millions of people through these actions every year making it of tremendous importance to be acquainted with this awareness & knowledge.

The various themes associated in the past few years that have to impact the country as well as the scientific community & reminded us of the fact that science & technology present is abundant all around us and we fail to see it.

2018 - Science and technology for a sustainable future: -

Science and technology play a decisive role in the future of sustainability keeping that in the forefront of the view this was set as a strategic theme to spread awareness on how crucial it is to acknowledge this is.

2019 – Science for the people, and the people for the science: -

The introduction of scientific researches, ideas, and techniques to the field of education has brought a huge level of positive change in the new generation and provided them a variety of new and innovative opportunities to work in the field of their interest by the people of science a message important to be spread.

2020 – Women in science: -

The vital importance of gender equity has often been proclaimed, but the world is still a different one for women than it is for men but now female scientists that offer encouraging examples can be found at all levels in science.

2021 – Future of STI: Impacts on Education, Skill, and Work: -

Technology will play a central role in nearly all aspects of our lives & the impact of Science, Technology, Innovation will change the sectors of education, skills learning & work. As we can see a huge growth in digital aspects where even the covid-19 pandemic plays an importance past to push the entire economy to act digitally.

In conclusion, there has never been more need for scientific advance than today as the world is getting more and more interconnected with every passing day & what National Science Day does is impact the country on a massive level and influence the country's upcoming future by promoting science inside it.

This event does not only promote or celebrate a grand scientific accomplishment but it is trying to Recreate a new visionary in this world that take the scientific community further to lengths maybe none of us could ever imagine.
