The live-action Star Wars TV series The Mandalorian became one of the most highly-anticipated and then most-watched TV series ever made at the time that its first season was coming out. Spending on a big budget comparable to other theatrical Star Wars films, Disney and Lucasfilm made sure that this outstanding live-action TV series became one of the most beloved series for Star Wars fans and any other audiences worldwide. Disney made the right decision by having executive producers Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni, who took this successful hit TV series to the highest rank in the Star Wars universe. The expectation was high for what Jon Favreou and Dave Filoni created, The Mandalorian brought in Disney+ a massive number of subscribers and became a flagship to Disney’s streaming platform when it launched. After watching all eight episodes of The Mandalorian season 1, audiences and Star Wars fans around the world were completely overwhelmed with satisfaction. Of course, with this responses, Disney and Lucasfilm are surely proud to continue with The Mandalorian seasons 2 and 3.

The Mandalorian season 1 won five Emmy Awards on Wednesday, September 16: Outstanding Sound Editing For A Comedy or Drama Series (Half Hour) And Animation 2020, Outstanding Production Design For A Narrative Program (Half Hour) – 2020, Outstanding Sound Mixing For A Comedy Or Drama Series (Half Hour) And Animation 2020, Outstanding Special Effects – 2020, and Outstanding Cinematography For A Single-Camera Series (Half Hour) – 2020. It had been nominated for eight other categories, including Outstanding Drama Series. Since then, the show has won two more awards: Outstanding Music Composition For A Series (Original Dramatic Score) 2020, and Outstanding Stunt Coordinator For A Drama Series, Limited Series Or Movie – 2020. Composer Ludwig Goransson and the stunt team must be proud of their achievements.

Giancario Esposito, who portrayed Moff Gideon with his outstanding performance in season 1, unfortunately did not win Outstanding Guest Actor in Drama Series. Although The Mandalorian season 1 did not win the Outstanding Drama Series award. However, this hit live-action TV series was still able to stand strong by hauling about half of the Emmys it was nominated. Truthfully, the Force is strong with this one, and the achievements for which the show was recognized are still impressive. The number of awards that it won is certainly nothing to sell short. This series has resonated with a lot of people, and that is reflected in the awards that it has won.

With The Mandalorian season 2 coming around the corner at the end of October, especially after being voted as fall’s most anticipated returning TV series in a Rotten Tomatoes poll, there will be more expectations for the series to win more awards in the future, at least on the performances side. The Mandalorian season 1 won mostly on the technical aspects, so awards for performances would be a bit different next time around. Perhaps Giancario Eposito might even be able to get nominated and win an award. This time, on The Mandalorian season 2, we are hoping to have wins based the performances of the actors along with the technical aspects. If the rumors are true, we might see award-winning actress Rosario Dawson portray Ahsoka Tano. Plus, it seems that we will be seeing Temuera Morrison as Boba Fett. The Mandalorian season 2 could have a higher chance to win awards in their performances.

The Mandalorian season 2 will be premiering on Disney+ this coming October 30. Grab your lightsabers and gather other Star Wars fans to binge season 1 in preparation, because the Force is strong with this one!
