The Main Location For The Season Premiere Most Likely Be Tatooine

These past several months during this pandemic, Disney did not seem to slow down on marketing and promoting the most highly anticipated TV show in the galaxy, The Mandalorian season 2 on Disney+, which is already sky-high as the premiere is days away. Disney has been providing the Star Wars fans all around the world with in-depth looks at the characters and storylines for The Mandalorian season 2 this October 30th.

Adding two more fan favorite characters who were pretty much confirmed. The Mandalorian season 2 will seemingly be featuring Ahsoka Tano, who will be played by actress Rosario Dawson, and Boba Fett, who will be played by Temuera Morrison in a certain capacity. There have also been rumors circulating about how Sabine Wren and Ezra Bridge could appear on the series as well. All this is despite the fact that these characters were not in the first season of The Mandalorian and have not been revealed or shown in the trailers for The Mandalorian season 2. Figurative;y speaking, it looks like Disney and Lucasfilm are keeping it as a surprise reveal when the episodes drop on Disney+. They have even gone as far as to not give away any screener copies to the guild members, in order to avoid any leaks from media. However, due to the vast presence of the social media, some leaks have already popped up here and there for the upcoming season, which also possibility reveals the total runtime of the show, at least on the first episode. Along with these leaks, there is another hint that surfaced around social media to reveal the where this season 2 premiere takes place.

According to the same Reddit post that shared the runtime for the first episode of The Mandalorian season 2, it also shared a first look image that looks like it takes place in the familiar territory. It seems like Tatooine will be the main setting of the season premiere.

Check out the image below, which features Din Djarin inside a cantina which might be Mos Eisley, where he is talking to an unknown bartender.

As we all knew, Tatooine is an iconic planet for the Star Wars universe where Skywalker linage from the movies came from, and it is good to have The Mandalorian potentially go back to Tatooine again, where it all began. Ming Na Wen’s character Fennec Shand, who was located on Tatooine in The Mandalorian season 1 episode 5, may have a good chance of coming back in The Mandalorian season 2. We saw Fennec Shand killed by Toro Calican, the bounty hunter, but her body was approached by a mysterious figure. As we never get an actual confirmation or return to this storyline, it would make sense for them to go back to this side of the story and bring back Fennec Shand, diving deeper into this mystery, since Tatooine is more likely to be a prominent setting for the season. Not sure how this all will tie in to season 2, but from previous casting report, we also has Timothy Olyphant joining the cast as Slash Film previously reported that he had shot some scenes with Boba Fett armor. Olyphant is speculated to play Cobb Vanth, a self pointed sheriff from Tatooine who wears a mysterious set of Mandalorian armor. Of course, there is no confirmation for this, but given the possibility of the main setting of the upcoming season being Tatooine, this could make sense. If you connect the dots, Vanth is more likely the mysterious figure that seen during the final moments of the fifth episode of The Mandalorian season 1 and has a strong possibility that this will set up a clash between Mando and Vanth in Tatooine.

Not to mention that Boba Fett was last seen was in Tatooine during Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi. In the comic book tie-in to the main event, Boba Fett survived from his encounter with the Sarlacc. So, it makes sense if the Boba Fett shows up in Tatooine, which we have some sort of confirmation from Temuera Morrison’s agency that Morrison is reprising his role as Boba Fett in some capacity. Of course, these are just speculations, and we will just have to wait and sit down with our lightsabers on October 30th when The Mandalorian season 2 premieres on Disney+.
