The Greener the Energy, the Cleaner the Environment
Environmentally friendly? What's your choice of power source? Fuel your passion for green energy.
How to Run Your Electricity Bill to the Healthiest and Most Economical Environmental Standard
Did you know that the energy you pay out of pocket for every month isn't only bad on your wallet, but bad on the environment? Not only do emitted green house gases harm the environment, but they can potentially harm you too. Energy companies that use limited energy resources don't want you to know this of course, but they do want your money. Energy power plants emit pollution into the air; that's bad for you, your animals, your families, your environment, and it's all coming out of your wallet each month! It's even bad for the climate. Of course we need our energy but there's a greener, and cleaner way to do it every month.
There's only one way to say this—if you want a cleaner, healthier environment for you and the people around you, GO GREEN! Renewable energy A.K.A. green energy, as many people know, is a source of energy that is not only going to cost less in the long run, but is unlimited in its resources. Five types of unlimited energy resources used today are solar, natural gases, hydro, wind, and nuclear power. These sources do not emit toxic air pollution and are better for the environment, and better yet your wallet!
All around the world people make efforts to change from limited energy resources to unlimited for these reasons. The less air pollution that's released into the air the healthier the environment, and the less deaths caused by the toxic air pollution released into the air from the buildings that produce these limited energy resources for us.
Around 6.5 million deaths are attributed each year to poor airquality, making this the world’s fourth-largest threat to human health, behind high blood pressure, dietary risks and smoking.
Some facts about each renewable energy resource.
Solar Panel Energy
Solar Power energy is the conversion of sunlight energy into direct current energy that you can use freely to power your household. Using solar powered energy doesn't have as high of risks of electrical shocks and power outages. Not to mention you would never struggle with not getting your electrical bill payment in on time. Not only can you use it in the winter and the summer, but you have the ability to store and conserve tour energy. Installing solar panels into your household is going to be the only cost of using it. After that you have a free unlimited resource to power your household with clean energy for as long as you can imagine! No more monthly electricity bills sounds good right? That's because it is. Currently solar panel energy makes up for approximately 1% of the amount of electricity produced in the entire population! Me and you should help change this. It not only gives people jobs, which is better for the growth of the economy, but it gives people a clean source of energy for their homes that is limitless!
You know those windmills you see driving in the plains? Well as many people know this is called windmill energy. Wind energy is a free and infinite resource of generating renewable energy. Other than a few birds here and there flying into their death it is harmless for the climate, environment, air, and for the population. Wind energy takes the energy that the wind gives through the movement of the mills and it is than made into sustainable energy along with other electricity in our homes. Generating its electricity freely, safely, and efficiently. Also one of the most commonly used forms of renewable energy used around the world today it produces zero harmful gases, and takes up little space to use. Wind energy is one of the safest known alternatives to anything that is unhealthy for the atmosphere as well as burning fossil fuels and has been used for hundreds of years.
As of 2015, Denmark generates 40% of its electric power from wind, and at least 83 other countries around the world are using wind power to supply their electric power grids. In 2014, global wind power capacity expanded 16% to 369,553 MW. Yearly wind energy production is also growing rapidly and has reached around 4% of worldwide electric power usage, 11.4% in the EU.Source
Hydropower is also known as water power. Hydropower uses the power that water makes through pressure in massive quantities to generate electricity. More commonly used than solar power energy, it is a sustainable energy that is unlimited. With so much water in the world it is no wonder that is one of the most common form of renewable energy resources. It is harmless to the water, the air, the environment and the climate. Hydropower releases no toxic chemicals into the air, and this source of energy leaves no toxic waste or air pollutants. As you can see in the photograph above, hydropower plants are found in large bodies of water all around the world.
Since the early 20th century, the term has been used almost exclusively in conjunction with the modern development of hydroelectric power. International institutions such as the World Bank view hydropower as a means for economic development without adding substantial amounts of carbon to the atmosphere, but dams can have significant negative social and environmental impacts
Nuclear power is the usage of generagting energy that only emits steam instead of toxic pollution into the air. By producing heat and using it to make electricity, it decreases the amount of air pollution that is released into the air as other power plants make. While the steam released into the air it is constantly checked to make sure that any level of radiation released is safe and below any level of potential hazard. It is cleaner for the environment and doesn't pose a threat to the climate, ozone, air, and the population like excessive emissions of greenhouse gases do.
A 2014 analysis of the carbon footprint literature by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) reported that the embodied total life-cycle emission intensity of fission electricity has a median value of 12 g CO2eq/kWh which is the lowest out of all commercial baseload energy sources
Renewable Natural Gas
Renewable Natural Gas is not only cleaner than your typically used fuels, but it is more economical. Being that it is over 50% cleaner than most commonly used gasolines and diesels, it is also renewable. As it is recycled organic matter that it is pulled up from underground and deemed non harmful to the environment. Remember how the gas prices go up and down, and visa versa depending on how much fuel we have left? With Renewable Natural Gas you wouldn't see this as it is not a limited resource, and that is a bonus. Renewable Natural Gas is better for your atmosphere by a long shot! It is not only healthier, and more efficient, but it's not ever going to run out on us.
