We Want To Know!

Boba Fett himself, Temuera Morrison, has teased that fans will be getting a lot of answers to their questions in The Book of Boba Fett. Morrison first appeared as Boba Fett in season 2 of The Mandalorian, and The Book of Boba Fett will pick up with Boba post-season 2. However, The Mandalorian takes place 5 years after Return of the Jedi, and the last time fans saw Boba was when he fell into the pit of the almighty sarlacc. In The Mandalorian, we find out that he is very much alive. That has left many of us wondering how he escaped along with a ton of other questions. If Morrison’s comments are correct, we will be getting all the answers we could ever want.

At the end of season 2 of The Mandalorian, Boba Fett storms Jabba’s Palace, which was under his former majordomo Bib Fortuna’s control at that time. Boba seemingly gets his revenge on Fortuna, and then takes his spot on the throne. In the trailer for The Book of Boba Fett, Boba seems to be trying to strike a deal with the other great crime organizations. With that being said, the trailer gives little information about the time between The Mandalorian and Return of the Jedi. In a recent interview with SFX magazine, Temuera Morrison said that The Book of Boba Fett would definitely provide fans with some answers.

“There will definitely be a number of answers. Some long-winded answers. Some short and sharp answers. Some colorful answers. We’re filling a lot of gaps.”

His words are definitely vague, but they also make one thing perfectly clear: answers are coming. This could certainly mean that we will get answers to every single question we have had about Boba since Disney bought Lucasfilm. Although, I am sure that several of the answers Morrison is referring to are more related to the plot of the series and not the events prior to it.

This obviously does not really answer or confirm anything. There are still a lot of unknowns, not only about Boba’s past but also about the future of Book of Boba Fett beyond this season. It is still unclear if the show will have more than one season or if we will continue to see Boba in future seasons of The Mandalorian or other upcoming series. Furthermore, there is still no word on whether The Book of Boba Fett itself will feature anyone else from The Mandalorian apart of Fennec Shand. Fans have been clamoring for a solo Boba Fett show, but I don’t think fans would complain if our Mando Din Djarin or Bo-Katan appeared in the show. The answers may be vague, but at least Morrison promises that Book of Boba Fett will clear things up.

Regardless of how many questions concerning Boba’s past get answered in The Book of Boba Fett, it is fantastic that he is finally getting a show to himself. I am excited for any adventure of Boba. Also, not only does it have both Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni heading the show, but also the great Robert Rodriguez. Rodriguez is a fantastic director with a great style, so it is exciting to see what he can bring to the galaxy far, far away. It really seems to be shaping up to be a fantastic show.

Star Wars has had a fantastic run of shows streaming on Disney+ lately. The Mandalorian, The Bad Batch, and even Star Wars: Visions have all been fantastic. There are also several more exciting shows on the way. Who knows how much The Book of Boba Fett will set up those future shows, but at least we don’t have to wait much longer to see.

The first episode of Book of Boba Fett premieres on Disney+ on December 29, 2021.
