Very Bull-Headed

Taurus, the bull, is most prominent during the winter and is located in the northern celestial hemisphere. It is an Earth sign, and during the ancient cultures, the bull’s horns were portrayed upward and backward. However, according to Greek mythology, the horns are pointing forward. One of Zeus’ (god of sky and thunder) lovers was the mortal Lo (Argive princess) and to disguise her so she wouldn’t be recognized by his wife Hera (goddess and queen of the gods) he disguised her as a heifer, a common cow. Hmm, that Zeus, he must have been a very horny god because he had many mistresses.

Bully for you, a Taurus is blessed with the gift of creativity and you are inspired by the arts. You have an eclectic passion for beauty, valuables (the more the merrier) and the finer aspects of life. You tend to be a bit stingy towards friends and relatives but not when it comes to pampering yourself. Since you tend to be very calm, like a bull on a gentle hill overlooking a graceful meadow, when everything is in chaos, you’d rather just sit there and let it all happen till the problems work themselves out.

No doubt about it, a Taurus can be very bull-headed to the core and that’s no bull. Because you are even-tempered, patient, logical and tend to be grounded, you like to be in control. You are not very open to change and like it when things are consistent and predictable. It takes a great deal of goading to make you mad, however, when angered, it could prove fatal to the challenger, especially where love and money are concerned. Unfortunately, your practicality, sensibility and set in your ways all but strangles the romantic dreamer within you. When your world is going accordingly to the way you like it, very little upheaval, you sometimes tend to become, not just physically lazy, but emotionally as well.

Taurus enjoys the familiar, craving permanence in a career. Because you tend to be artistic, are meticulous and have an eye for beauty, if you are unhappy with your present job, you might consider becoming an illustrator, fashion designer or a photographer of stunning women. Also, since money is very important to you, a banker, accountant or finance administrator might be right up your alley. But if you find those careers to be a little too stiff and arduous, being a hermit, exquisite food and wine taster or mattress tester could be the answer. One thing about a Taurus, you tend to be successful at any endeavor you undertake.

When it comes to friendships, you are friends with everyone, especially if they are nice to you. You prefer people who have the same tastes, desires and interests as your own. When meeting with someone new, uncertain about who they are and what they may stand for, you’ll step back like the bull on the hill and muse about the possibilities, while asking yourself, “Are they really worthwhile getting to know?”

When a Taurus is attracted to the opposite sex, it’s not just because they may be drop dead gorgeous and dress as well as you, but because they are practical, dependable and self-sufficient. You don’t fall in love at the drop of a hat, a shrugged off bra or someone who is constantly flitting about like a social butterfly. Since you take love seriously, you tend to take it in steps, a chat over a romantic dinner, asking questions like what were their parents like, what do they want in life and how much money do they have in the bank? You need to feel safe, comfortable and secure, and because of your steadfast loyalty, it would be wise to wed a Cancer, Virgo or Capricorn. Beware of Leo, Aries and Scorpio—even friendship is doubtful.
