3 Quick and Fun Quantum Physics Principles
Physics is a vast and often very perplexing subject for even the greatest of minds; for instance, Richard Feynman is quoted in saying, 'If you think you understand quantum mechanics, you don't understand quantum mechanics.' In this article, I will explore 3 of my favourite physics principles in a simplistic, and easy to digest format.
Jacob MarshallPublished 6 years ago in FuturismHow Will the Universe End?
On March 14, 2016 one of the smartest men alive passed away. During his life, he contributed to many theories in the science field and even discovered a few of his own. He was diagnosed with ASL at the age of 21 and was given two years to live. When he died, he was 76 years old. This man, Stephen Hawking, is one of the most famous physicists of all time. One of his most famous quotes goes, “Remember to look up at the stars, not down at your feet.” So, that's what we'll be doing today. Looking into the cosmos at theories on how the universe will end. We’ll be looking at The Big Rip, which, besides its name, is actually the smaller theory here, the Big Freeze that will give you chills, and the Big Crunch that will eat you up.
Madison HoagPublished 6 years ago in FuturismA New Drug for Bacteria's Antibiotic Resistance, Role of Senescent Cells in Brain, and Impact of Climate Change on Hurricane Florence
A Different Tactic Antibiotics can weaken bacteria's cell wall and its production of certain proteins, therefore destroying the bacteria. But bacteria have developed resistance to most existing antibiotics. These drug resistant microbes make infections worrisome. For example, urinary tract infections would be a deadly ordeal.
Otis ColonPublished 6 years ago in FuturismPhysics of a Tornado
Tornadoes are considered intensely hazardous weather phenomenons and are widely studied in the United States today! A tornado is a rapid rotating column of air that sometimes touches the ground and in other cases doesn't reach the ground. When tornadoes haven't reached the ground they are called funnel clouds. When funnel clouds are spotted they are closely watched and studied to determine the severity and direction in which it is moving.
Shae NicolePublished 6 years ago in FuturismThe Autumn Equinox
The equinoxes are the solstices are harbingers of the changing of the seasons. Twice a year the earth tilts to a right angle to the sun and the sun is directly over the equator. Basically this configuration of earth and sun means that both hemispheres receive almost the same amount of light as they do dark.

Warmer Temperatures Increase the Appetite of Insects A new study in Science (August 31) estimates that each degree Celsius rise of warming temperature will result in an extra 10 to 25 percent of crop losses.
Otis ColonPublished 6 years ago in FuturismAre Ants More Human Than Us?
I became the proud owner of an Uncle Milton’s Ant Farm as a gift. I sent in my form and awaited my ants. The day they arrived was a happy one. Several had died in transport. This was to be expected as the mail service is not the most gentle of ways to send living creatures. I followed the directions and introduced them to their new home.

Unless you have been living under a rock for the past six months, I’m sure you are aware of the Royal Wedding between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. We figured this would be the perfect opportunity to discuss the inheritance of ginger hair. After all, there is no subject more important than the possible hair colour of their non-existent baby!

What Is Lucid Dreaming? Lucid dreaming is becoming self-aware in your dreams. You know your dreaming and can sometimes control the dream. Becoming aware means you will likely be able to explore and make decisions in a dream world. There is no limit as to what you could do. But many just play out with little control.
savanna raePublished 6 years ago in FuturismHow Does Ebola Work?
An article published in 2018 by Younan, et al. titled “Disabling of lymphocyte immune response by Ebola virus,” draws to attention some interesting associations between lymphopenia, a significant reduction in T cells, and an Ebola virus infection. Most specifically, the author shows how the level of lymphopenia in a patient correlates to survival or fatality. Although the article lacks statistical findings and experimental data, it still provided relevant insight into some mechanisms behind Ebola infections, as well as future prospects in the area of therapeutics.
