science fiction
The bridge between imagination and technological advancement, where the dreamer’s vision predicts change, and foreshadows a futuristic reality. Science fiction has the ability to become “science reality”.
The Great Designer
The game of life was almost over. After 300,000 years of famine, flood, and war, it was our minds that would atrophy the species to the end of existence. The brain is its own kind of carnivorous predator. It is bloodthirsty for the flesh of realized ambition.

Barn Owl: Night Owl - Part 2
Just like most solar systems this one had an oort cloud of ice rocks where the spaceship hid to avoid detection in case advanced deep space observation units were in place. Without contact with Hoot for more than 200-years they couldn’t be sure exactly what they’d been able to develop, with the added chance of contact with other nearby solar systems, who could be monitoring this one.

We Wanted Adventure
The snow was falling, again. Seems that all it ever did on this planet was snow. I don’t know how I got talked into this human experiment. I guess I wanted adventure. I wanted to see unknown places and visit distant planets. When they opened up the Space Force in the early 21st Century I was delighted. I was still in high school. I began to take all kinds of courses in science and mathematics. I went to college and majored in mechanical engineering.

The Barn Owl
No one seemed to remember the tsunami, the monstrous waves that swallowed skyscrapers like they were ants in the sand. It didn't matter who many times I brought up the subject, I would only receive glares or stares of confusion. I pleaded for someone to remember, to know what I was talking about, I couldn't be the only one. I just couldn't be, right?

Little Old Me
(Alarm rings) With my eyes still closed, I find my phone and dismiss my alarm- it goes off at 5AM every morning. Let's me know that I have at least an hour left to sleep before it's time to put on my Superwoman cape. Am I a real hero? I definitely wear the hats of one as if I have magical, superhuman powers. Growing up being wife, mom, employee, entrepreneur, student, friend, etc never crossed my mind in depth. Television made everything seem easy and the Internet made everything that much easier. I could not imagine growing up in the 2000s era. Happy I witnessed the becoming of what the times holds today. In my mind it all makes sense: I know the how, the why, the when and even how to live when this shit here fades away. Wait a minute, Mind- "we're supposed to be asleep! Save the thinking for in the morning". I begin to dream about high school and imagine how life would be if I knew then what I know now and the access to today's technology and information. That's when I realize I may be fading away sooner than I think. I roll over and close my eyes.

Barn Owl: Night Owl
The Jedi Master navigated through the darkness of space with the star map secure. Earth and the Russian named Hennadyi left behind. Whatever drama his life possessed would now have to play out free of intervention. The Jedi’s debt paid to the family that had watched over the case for more than a thousand-years with gold Roman coins.

HeadQuarters
Working at the headquarters is crazy, absolutely crazy. The HEADQUARTERS is essentially all about changing habits and creating new neural pathways and laying the groundwork for broadened perceptions in the client. If that makes sense to you or if it doesn’t, I am truly sorry, but I have just told you all I am supposed to share about what we do here at HEADQUARTERS.

Introducing Emergence
What is Emergence? Emergence is a new Facebook group dedicated to fans of science fiction, fantasy, comics, video games, tabletop games, and all things that makeup nerdom. The dictionary defines emergence as “the process of coming into view or becoming exposed after being concealed. The process of coming into being, or of becoming important or prominent.” And that is the purpose of this group.

The Sunshield's Heat
After a time I knew better than to wear my uniform on the train. Somehow the protestors and demonstrators had enough time and energy each and every morning to gather at the station and harass anyone with the Sunshield patch on their jumpsuit.
