science fiction
The bridge between imagination and technological advancement, where the dreamer’s vision predicts change, and foreshadows a futuristic reality. Science fiction has the ability to become “science reality”.
One Point Seven-Six Parsecs
It was dark. Blackness enshrouded the sleeping figure like a great, fuzzy, blanket, warm and still. The silence filled the space with a presence that was almost physical. He woke in stages, rising from the depths of unconsciousness like a diver ascending, then pausing, then ascending again, until, before he knew what had happened, he was awake, and he would not have been able to pinpoint an exact moment when he “woke up.”

Cowboy Bob and the Interdimensional Drive
by: Dennis R. Humphreys The research firm of Tomorrow's Technologies had been around for ten years. Subsidized by private funding originally, some of the things developed, eventually caught the attention of the U.S. Government. It was commonplace to grant funding regularly for a hand in the development of things pertinent to national security and military advancement. One project caught the attention of power gurus. This unique project was a coordinated effort under the leadership of three men: Doctors Gordon Ripshaw, Issac Warner, and Phillip Askew. Their primary focus was in three different areas of expertise and interest. All their efforts were combined in these avenues both in time and funding.

The Purple People
“Love Your Color!” blazed in rainbow bubble letters above my head. I began reading my prepared motivational speech with as much enthusiasm as I could, while keeping the seriousness of the cause in my tone, body language, and diction. I respect the Love Your Color Organization. I am proud to be its founding member.

The Line
She hated walks. The only good thing she could think of was that it was halfway through the day. Studying since dawn, a small break for light exercises in the yard, then science and mathematics, and then this horrid walk. Marching single-file in silence while the pompous teachers and observers kept us not only from enjoying themselves but from mixing the boys and girls. The last thing they wanted was another Meomi incident.

the viewpoint of nonhuman
“What is it like to be you?” This question may often be asked of your robot, but rarely is it asked of you. As humans, we generally do not ask what it is like to be a human because, by default, we assume that we know what is going on in their minds. Frequently, however, this assumption can cause us to misread and misunderstand each other by placing our unique experiences and interpreting the world through our black-and-white lens without seeing the rich spectrum of color others may experience.

The Raven
The Raven The sound and power of the engine rumbled through Cain’s bones, a familiar and oddly comfortable feeling. With a sigh of relief, he pulled himself free of the inner workings of his vessel, glad the complicated machine was still operable. The thing wasn’t new, but it wasn’t exactly ancient either. Cain liked to call it a classic.

The Dimensional Mishap
"Vice Admirals Log Number 227. Admiral Kadstin is currently away from his post, as part of a meeting with the Board of Admiralty. This has left me as the current highest-ranking officer of the Federal 104th Fleet. As of recently, we have received a wideband distress signal. This signal originates from an Imperial Capital Class ship. We have not been able to ascertain the details of this ship's mission from the distress signal. As the highest-ranking officer, I have given the order to investigate the distress signal to understand what happened to her. End Log"

C.I.A. Guinea Pig
What drug was researched by the CIA as a truth-telling serum? Credited by Paul McCartney as inspiration for several Beatles' songs? The pied piper, Timothy Leary (happy 101st B-Day). And cited by Steve Jobs as one of the most profound experiences of his lifetime?

Dire Straits
DIRE STRAITS Lena looked at him and disappeared into the abyss, dissolving pixelated into the mist. It was cold in the air but warm, he noticed. The sunset light was a fire, orange and red, mixing together like streaks of lava, rushing down to greet them.
