Before time there was language, the seeds of knowledge, and a desire to understand. These things are as inherent in us now as they were before we were born. As we are compelled to express ourselves we come to life, our search for meaning defining who we are and dictating our beliefs, which in turn navigate the stories we tell. When we first looked up at the stars with that fine new sense of wonder we felt inspired to recognize ourselves in them, and we still do, we still feel the legacy of our ancestors in this time honored tradition.

And as easy as it is for me to say that the reason I do the things that I do is because I'm a Pisces, that doesn't mean it's true. It doesn't mean it isn't either, but our beliefs must first be built upon a foundation of recognizable logic so that we have the footing to explore our imagination (which may be far more powerful than we care to realize) with structure and courage.

And although we are shaped by our environments, what determines the environment we find ourselves in? What is it that makes individuals different? We find ourselves in this particular place and time we call our life for some reason or another - is it chance or a multidimensional phenomenon? Could we have been someone else? Someone else have been us? If so, luck must have taken part in some cases. Of course, this could just be characteristic of something someone born on March 7th would say - I have been imbued with a certain touch of it, as has another fellow I've met with the same birthday, but I maintain that I have witnessed exceptions to these rules. Perhaps the astrological system we use is faulty, perhaps we are on the trail of a great procedure but have lost the way. Perhaps we are incapable of understanding the universe completely. Einstein may have been expressing a general hubris when he said that the extraordinary thing about the universe is how accessible it is for the intellect to understand it. I have no doubt, in fact I know, that there are mysteries- and have been mysteries - that have appeared to have been inconqurable but have since then yielded and been upended by the unrelenting forces of science and thought. But as for the ones that have not yet? At what point do we admit defeat? Where do we go when we run out of solutions? We cannot settle for something we fabricate with no basis - we must found our beliefs on facts and be brave enough to let them speak for themselves! In no way shall we ever succumb to half measures and assumptions in fear of an undesired outcome. There is no sense in that! And sense is our beacon home…

So where do we go to find the answers we cannot find? The stars. They are unshakeable. They can withstand any blow we deal them, and we deal them heavy blows. We outsource the responsibilities of our actions with them - we rely on them to keep time. They guided us across oceans - they have been trustworthy friends. So where do we end our relationship with them? I posit that they are our forebearers, the agents that propped us up on two legs, the magnets that made us look up, that conjured our imagination into existence. Taught us how to read and write, to think, inspired us to share. Waited to be realized by some unsuspecting creature - which just so happened to be us - related to them the timeless mysteries of Life and illuminated their minds with the desire to understand. And so it's never ended, and it never will.
