Subjective Sensibilities
The space you inhabit is a crystallization of your being - a reflection of your state of mind. As the space gets out of hand, so do you. If you don't like it, how can you expect to like yourself? If you don't like yourself, how can you expect others to like you? If you want to improve yourself, start with your room. Be sure it fits to the way you intend to live your life. Keep in mind, however, that mess is not necessarily equivalent to clutter. There are people who flourish in places others may deem as disarray and people who may thrive only in places considered clean. Do not listen to what others want you to be - listen to you. Not everyone is for everyone, not everything for everyone. The art of Feng Shui is subjective. Dance your own dance. This may cause strife among others but as long as you identify these issues as places and times to understand, to learn, and to grow, you can expand the shell of your life to accommodate a more spacious existence. It may be difficult, but some letting go is inevitable. It's part of the process. Do not hold yourself down, or pin yourself to the expectations of others, there is no sense in this. The only worthwhile way forward is the one you carve yourself. The most beautiful path is the one you forge on your own. The ones who love you for who you are will recognize themselves in you. You will not have to force anything, the effort will subside and the results will efface themselves.
