'Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker' Final Trailer Breakdown!

The Force will be with you. Always.

The final trailer for the conclusion to the Skywalker saga has just been released. I've watched it twice and I almost cried both times. I love this trailer, and I think it is about time for us to sit down and analyze this trailer frame-by-frame.

Here we go!

Our trailer opens with a scene of Rey running in a forest. The trees resemble those on the forest moon of Endor and I believe this scene either depicts Rey training and practicing her skills, or she is running from a First Order weapon sent to kill her.

We hear Finn narrating, "It's an instinct. A feeling. The Force brought us together." From this, we know that Finn has learned more about the Force and believes it brought him to Rey and Poe.

Here, we get a shot of the remaining members of the Resistance at their new base. Poe appears to be giving a speech to everyone. Leia is not present, and we can assume that she will either be in another part of the galaxy, or her character will be dead in this film.

As Holdo sacrificed herself in The Last Jedi, I believe Poe is now leading the Resistance against the First Order, and in the audience, you get a glimpse of C-3PO and Lando Calrisssian.

This shot reveals the return of Rose Tico. Given the negative reception to her character along with the fact that Abrams didn't create the character and Rose has had very little screen time in the promotional material, I believe her character will have more of a minor role in this film than she did in Last Jedi.

In this shot, we see Finn, Poe, and Chewbacca next to an X-wing. I don't think this is gonna be the rebels' new base; I think they are here on a mission while also confronting the First Order, like what the Rebels did on Endor in Return of the Jedi.

Poe narrates, "We're not alone. Good people will fight if we lead them." And I think this line implies that the remnants of the Resistance will be searching across the galaxy for more allies in order to gear up for a final showdown against the First Order.

In this scene, Rey and Kylo Ren are standing on a weapon in a water-filled planet, about to fight. I believe this will be our final battle in the film, and it will "rhyme" with the final battle from The Force Awakens.

Rey narrates, "People keep telling me they know me. No one does."

Kylo responds, "But I do." This could mean that Rey's character will be developed a bit more in this film. We could learn a bit more about her past, and her backstory could be expanded on.

When Kylo tells Rey he knows her, he could be manipulating Rey into joining him, or he has more answers about her past.

There isn't too much I want to analyze and predict about this shot of TIE fighters flying towards these mountains, but I wanted to point out how beautiful this shot is, and how the mountains are reflected perfectly in the water. This looks incredible.

Here we get a shot of a large throne with horns sticking out, and as we see this we hear Emperor Palpatine narrate, "Long have I waited, and now, your coming together is your undoing."

This throne must belong to Palpatine. How is he alive? He likely found a way to continue living after Darth Vader "killed" him in Return of the Jedi. He may have anticipated Vader's betrayal, and has now been awaiting the day he can return.

And if you're wondering how a villain from Star Wars can return from the dead, well, you've clearly never watched The Clone Wars TV show.

In case you thought Disney had just thrown away everything from the original trilogy, think again.

For the first time in the series, we are seeing all of our principal characters (Rey, Finn, and Poe) on the Millennium Falcon together with Chewbacca.

They are getting ready to fly away to a planet, and given that they are wearing the same clothes as they are in this shot from the D23 special look, I assume they're about to land here.

In this scene, C-3PO tells the crew that he is taking one last look at his friends. This could mean C-3PO is either leaving them for his own mission or he is dying. And if he does, I might cry.

And on the far left, you see Zorri Bliss, a new character with a past connection to Poe. Bliss will be portrayed by Keri Russell.

This scene has Poe, Finn, and Chewie in a shootout with Stormtroopers on one of the First Order's ships. I'm pretty excited for this, because if there's anything I've learned from The Force Awakens and Mission: Impossible III, it's that Abrams knows how to create incredibly fun action sequences.

Here, we're getting the same shot of Leia hugging Rey as the one from the first teaser. This appears to be the same hug from the end of The Force Awakens placed on a new backdrop, and given that they had to write around Carrie Fisher's death, I believe she will only appear in this scene and one or two more.

Leia will have to be a minor character in this film, and she will either be killed offscreen, or she will be dead by the beginning of the film and appear in flashback scenes. I'm thinking it's gonna be the latter.

This is a chase scene taking place on a fast ship with C-3PO, Finn, and Poe. I assume they're being chased by the First Order's troops, and the desert planet they are on could potentially be Jakku, Rey's home planet.

I believe Jakku would make more sense than Tatooine, as this is Rey's story, and she could be exploring more of her origins, as we saw her on the planet as well in the first teaser trailer.

And here, we see Lando and Chewie flying the Falcon together. This is pretty nostalgic, and I believe this scene will be near the final battle. Rey will fly the Falcon during the first half of the film, but the finale will have Lando flying it with Chewie, as Rey stays on land, fighting Kylo Ren.

Here, we get a shot of an army of Resistance fighters on animals. We see Finn on one of them, BB-8 riding next to him, and I think at the front of the charge is Jannah, a new character portrayed by Naomi Ackie.

This action sequence looks too large-scale to be near the beginning, so I would assume this scene takes place during the climax of the film, with the Resistance charging against the First Order.

In this shot, Rey and Kylo are destroying something. I don't think they're doing this by accident; I think they're teaming together for a brief moment and the object they're destroying has some significance to the plot.

Either that or Abrams just thought this would be a cool-looking shot for a lightsaber fight, and in that case, well played, J.J. Well played.

One of our final shots is a shot of Rey facing off with the Emperor in his chair. She seems to know who he is and is ready to fight. However, I don't think she will be able to defeat the Emperor on her own.

I highly doubt the Emperor will fight her with a lightsaber, but given how powerful the Emperor's skills are with the Force, I feel like if Rey is going to defeat the Emperor, she will need the help of Kylo Ren to destroy the Emperor once and for all.

During our final shot, we hear Luke say, "The Force will be with you," followed by Leia saying, "Always." Incredible reference to the original Star Wars and I think this will be told to her through a voiceover, like the way Obi-Wan told the same message to Luke.

And that's it!

Well, I don't know about you, but I've already reserved my seats for this movie. I know it's not out for two months, but I am not gonna risk getting front-row seats. Those suck.

I can't wait for this film, and even though the trailer is already at the beginning of this article, what the hell? Just watch it again. Thanks for reading.
