"Shamials"

Insight into the novel

I'm excited to share that I am nearly done writing my first fictional fantasy book. I think I will end up making a 2 or 3 book series, though not sure I can focus enough energy to do more than that. The title is as soon in the article title, it is called Shamials. The word Shamial comes from the creature developed for the story. Shapeshifters through ancestry, but more animal than human. Most of these creatures only shift into one or two forms. Any species, real or mythical (by real world standards) can be traits of a Shamial.

Shamials, in a human form, will still show traits of animals, like with ears, tails, feathers, wings, talons, and more. They are also capable of changing their form into the animal whose features are visible in there human form.

Shamials are by products created from the original creature known as a shapeshifter. Unlike the shapeshifter who can shift into any form it wishes and can even change the form they want to look like even as humans, Shamials only manage to have up to three potential traits or forms. Most of the time their form is single or a combination of species. The purer the breed the better. But in this story. They need a leader. A direct descendent of the original shapeshifters whose blood and DNA have not been altered but so much.

This story, one rises to become the queen and leader of the Shamial race in the fight for equalization among themselves and the humans. It is chaos. The story follows Raura, the slave trade to Mr. Minzol where she was treated more like a daughter than any master she held before. The biggest obstacle course was escaping from the master's son. In the process, Raura is helped by a group of Shamials that banded together to help enslaved Shamials escape their masters and find freedom somewhere else. Only one of the ones helping Raura, is her long lost chosen protector from when they were young, before their home was raided by humans looking for Shamial children to make slaves

Raura is a pure shapeshifter, but still bears trails of animals. Only difference is that even her traits can change. She is of the first generation of Shamials. The closest related to the Shapeshifters DNA that created the Shamial species. None the less, Raura's species is considered royalty among the species. She doesn't know this though. She shifts from being a slave to queen. Destined to lead the species in their freedom from humans. But first, she has to escape from slavery and keep out of reach of the Enforcers attempting to drag her back to the son that wanted to abuse her.

With the help of Xerxis, her protector, Koen, Rowen, and Nix, it is a long journey to somewhere safe. Somewhere that would provide answers to Raura for who she is. Shamials will rise, unlocking their true potentials and fighting back against humans that deem themselves superior. The time to live in fear has ended and the need for freedom secured in their hearts.

If you are interested. The first book is almost finished. Hopefully the second doesn't take as long to write. This piece was to illustrate the plot of the story, give you some details. You can even visualize how the main character looks through the photos above. More to come about the characters and the story. But for now, this is all you get. Watch for more if this has caught your interest. You just might like it or even fall in love with it. Or at least that's the hope.
