Hey Hey
I'm a writer, or I try to be. I have a larger passion for music and so I became an Audio Engineer. I look forward to sharing knowledge, information, projects, recordings, etc. Maybe share stories for others with Cystic Fibrosis.

Covid
Anyone else dislike covid-19 aside from myself? I mean seriously think about it. It's still a potential risk. Our entire culture has had to change because of it. It severely affects our seniors, children, and everyone with preexisting conditions. Yes, it still affects everyone else in the world too, but those are the less likely to survive it if they catch it. We did a complete 180 on the idea of wearing masks. Now it's a regular thing. At one time it was completely forbidden inside most stores, theatres, and many other places. People that would cause shooting typically wore a mask of some kind. Now everyone is wearing them.

Raura
Here you shall read, the background of the main character of my book. This shows you the main character's story up to the point where the book actually begins. Raura, the main character, born of a royalty among the Shamial species but taken as a slave after her home was raided. Read how her story starts, which will continue through the book itself.

Riddles
Here is the story of a dog named Riddles. Riddles is a shelter dog that was said to be 3 years old. The shelter said she had heartworms and needed to undergo treatments if anyone adopts her. At the time, it had been a year since a beloved tuxedo cat in our household had passed. We ended up looking for a small dog that could be mine even though we still had two cats. Well instead of bringing home just one dog, we ended up with two. We found out at the vet visit after we adopted these two dogs that Riddles, the smaller dog, had more medical problems that were possibly caused due to having heartworms and that she was more like 8 years old rather than 3 years old. We adopted her regardless. Nyla, the boxer mix that was adopted with Riddles, had severe hip problems, but she was too young and still too mobile to do surgery on.

Knowing vs. Not Knowing
Just from my time working live sound at my church, and after taking a training course on audio sound. I have learned just how different it is between people that know what they are doing and those that don't fully understand. Those that do not fully understand how to mix live sound, you can hear an obvious difference the how everything sounds. Often times, they change settings when they don't fully know how to use or what it does, it changes the sound dramatically. Before I learned I only changed the basic things. I did not change anything I did not understand what or how they worked. After going through the training and learning what those things did, that's when I started to use them. I know what to listen for.

Cystic Fibrosis
Not much is known, or should I say, not many people know what Cystic Fibrosis is. Most of those that do know are those that have it, family and friends to those that have it, and the doctors that work to control and treat it. It can be very mild, or it can be extremely difficult. It depends on the person and the genes that they have. There are over 1700 known genetic mutations of the CFTR gene. CFTR is the missing protein in someone with Cystic Fibrosis. Every person that has Cystic Fibrosis, received a gene from both parents that are carriers. Carriers do not have Cystic Fibrosis, they just carry a single mutation gene. With two parents that are carriers, there is about a 25% chance that a child will be born with Cystic Fibrosis.

"Shamials"
I'm excited to share that I am nearly done writing my first fictional fantasy book. I think I will end up making a 2 or 3 book series, though not sure I can focus enough energy to do more than that. The title is as soon in the article title, it is called Shamials. The word Shamial comes from the creature developed for the story. Shapeshifters through ancestry, but more animal than human. Most of these creatures only shift into one or two forms. Any species, real or mythical (by real world standards) can be traits of a Shamial.

Dating Apps
Has anyone noticed how many scam artists and fake profiles there are on dating sites? Maybe I'm just one of the unlucky ones. It seems that of all the dating sites there are out there, more than half the people on them aren't who they say they are. What I mean, they act all real and legit and everything, but then they start asking for money, or gift cards, or claim they will send you money to buy something for them. If you say no to them, they become persistent.
