Is a STUPID SLOGAN!

.

Mmmmmm.......?

.

What do you think green issues are REALLY about?

.

Costing struggling families their jobs to save some stupid rare snail, perhaps?

.

Making naive unrealistic burdens on a world economy that has already suffered multiple worldwide recessions, Maybe?

.

Some stupid unwashed hippy tying themselves to a tree?

.

“Screw ‘Save The Earth’ what about ‘Save My FUCKING JOB!’ ”,

I hear you scream?

.

This because the “Save The Earth” is a Stupid slogan.

.

It is misleading and flawed from the start in its conception as a message!

.

Because most rational people do not give two craps about the survival of some rare moss species!

.

That is why people in Democracies all around the world do not cast their vote based on “Green Issues”.

.

That is why different versions the “Green Party” are most commonly found as a poor 4th in running the list at best, (in most countries.)

.

What we should be calling this movement is,

“Save The Entire Human Race!”

.

Lets me put it this way,

.

If we had no green policies at all and did out worst,

.

How long would it take this planet to recover?

.

Properly recover! With a new fully diverse ecosystem and stabilised climate.

.

Figures vary, but none of them is more than a single one Billion years.

.

This may sound like a huge amount of time but that is only because we are only mere humans, in the larger scheme of thing like Astrology, Geology, and Ecology it is barely enough time to take a figurative breath!

.

The Earth would recover and survive and move on eventually.

.

The Earth and life on it have survived a lot worse!

.

The term “Extinction Event", usually means the top three to five rows on the very top food pyramid getting wiped out!

.

Well, guess what?

.

.

We are at the top of that pyramid!

.

The bottom 3 to 5 rows will adjust, cope and move on!

.

However. We as a species would no longer be around!

.

We are passengers on a space vehicle travelling through an environment that is impossible to survive naturally and we are actively destroying our own life support system!

.

Let's return to the earlier examples of the Snail, Tree, and Moss I gave above.

.

Do Not consider these as just some pretty stuff that dirty drippy hippies want to save and instead consider them as health and safety indicators on this space vehicle.

.

How many lights do you need to see on the life support panel, or bolts from the hull floating away when you look out your window before you decide to take action and try to repair and properly maintain your vital life support system!

.

Do you want Grandchildren?

.

Do you want your Grandchildren to be happy?

.

Do you want your grandchildren to have a fulfilled life?

.

Do you think that perhaps part of such an imagined fulfilled life for those Grandchildren might also include, not just having Grandchildren of their own,

But also being warm and comforted in the knowledge that those beloved Grandchildren of theirs,

will also know the joy of having Grandchildren?

.

But people will not get the message while they continue to misunderstand what is really at stake!

.

And it an’t the Earth!

.

Or the even the continued existence of life on the Earth?

.

It is all of "Us", Ourselves as a species!

.

So in summary,

.

Please, can we change the “Save The Earth” slogan to something we would all understand a little better!

.

“Save Our Own Species!” Perhaps!

.

.

Me personally,

I look around at mankind and who we are and I am not sure we are even worthy of saving.

.

But on the off chance you happen to disagree with me, I offer this kernel of common sense to give you a hand.
