There has been another project added to the Star Wars saga. It is a developing title set to start filming in the summer of 2022. This new project also has an odd title, Grammar Rodeo. Lucasfilm and Disney+ already have several new Star Wars series lined up for the rest of 2022 going into 2023, so this is pretty cool news. With new projects, the fanbase has more to be excited about because so many different stories and characters could fit into a new project. The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett have already demonstrated the avenues for new adventures in the Star Wars universe, providing new storylines for old characters and new characters.

The question raised is, will the new project bring new characters and storylines to the Star Wars universe. According to other media sources, the odd name follows a tradition similar to past Star Wars projects. For instance, the new Disney+ series, Ahsoka, had a working title of Stormcrow. Return of the Jedi was called Blue Harvest. Solo: A Star Wars Story was called Red Cup. The Last Jedi was called Space Bear. Therefore, it is not uncommon for new projects to have odd titles while in the works. There is not much more information about the project other than the main character is expected to be a familiar one and that the Star Wars series is looking to cast a youth female aged 10 to 12. Maybe it is a film that is already in the works. According to CBR, season 3 of The Mandalorian has a working title of Buccaneer. No one is letting the rabbit out of the hat yet.

There are a lot of different stories that the Star Wars universe could tell. Besides the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi, Andor, Ahsoka, The Mandalorian, season 3 are set to fill in timelines between the movies and established tv series. In addition, new series such as Lando and The Acolyte fill in timelines that have yet to be explored. There are so many different periods Star Wars could build a foundation in. It does not necessarily have to be in an era we are familiar with. For example, if Phase II of The High Republic begins 350 years before The Phantom Menace to the sequel trilogy, Star Wars stretches out over 400 years. That allows for more stories with new characters without being hindered by events in the movies.

Wait a minute! The Bespin Bulletin reported that the new series could be related to The Simpsons. The Simpsons aired an episode with characters aged 10 to 12 years old, and the episode was titled Bart on the Road. In this episode, Bart and his school pals tricked their parents into letting them take a road trip. The road trip was for a school event called National Grammar Rodeo. This aligns with Star Wars and Lucasfilm as the show was described as being Stranger Things in Space. The fanbase will have to wait and see what the new series is about. However, with filming beginning early this summer, some answers are bound to surface soon.

Lucasfilm, Disney+, and the Star Wars universe leave us filled with anticipation for many surprises. There are so many shows scheduled for the next year that the fanbase has its appetite whet. Since many of the new series are already names, the anticipation of the series beginning is intense. Getting word that a new series is in the works is exciting news for the Star Wars fanbase. I’m guessing there may be mixed reactions to the Star Wars and The Simpsons collaboration but most intriguing, I believe. After all, Star Wars and The Simpsons have teamed up before to account for a successful project.
