With Obi-Wan Kenobi being more or less finished with some post-production finishing touches remaining, many of the cast members are coming back home with fun souvenirs. It is a tradition within various shows, movies, whatever is being filmed for the cast and crew to get some sort of souvenir after filming wrapped. It a little symbol of the time one spent working on the job. More and more of the cast are showing off some of the gifts given to them as a sign that principal photography is done, and the series is getting closer and closer to completion. People are getting excited about the up and coming Star Wars limited series Obi-Wan Kenobi. It is probably the most anticipated of the eleven series that are about to hit the Disney+ streaming service in the coming years. This one in particular marks not only the return of the character Obi-Wan, but Obi-Wan as played by Ewan McGregor from the prequel trilogy itself. This is a wish come true for many fans.

Among other actors returning to Star Wars is Bonnie Piesse who is set to reprise her role as Aunt Beru, the woman who will raise Luke Skywalker. Piesse has not been seen in any Star Wars-related projects since Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith when she made her debut as the legendary Aunt Beru Lars. In a recent Instagram post, the actress excitedly showed off her Disney+ swag, an Obi-Wan Kenobi hat with the iconic twin suns of Tatooine on it. The following caption accompanied the image:

"When Deborah Chow sends you a wrap gift with some Obi-Wan swag! Counting my blessings!"

This is a sign that we will be seeing the desert planet as well as the famous Lars homestead in the series. It is gonna be a lot of fun to see these returning characters as well as familiar sights on screen after so many years.

Aunt Beru in particular, much like Uncle Owen, is one of the many Star Wars character who does not get enough credit in the saga. The couple only appears in A New Hope, and Attack of the Clones, with very brief appearance at the end of Revenge of the Sith. However, the Lars are perhaps some of the most important people in the Star Wars story. After all they are the ones who raised Luke Skywalker, instilling important values in our hero. Yet, they hardly get any screen time or any character development. Hopefully, Obi-Wan Kenobi will expand more their characters as they have so much untapped story potential.

In a lot of ways Obi-Wan Kenobi is a celebration of the prequel era, bringing nostalgia to fans who grew up watching the prequel films and the Clone Wars series. The project has been in the works for several years. Many had thought it would be a movie at first. However, it was never officially confirmed by Lucasfilm. The rumor mill was buzzing. Some began to think the series might not even happen at all. Finally, Lucasfilm announced that Obi-Wan Kenobi would be a Disney+ series, sending joy and excitement through the entire Star Wars fan base. With the success of The Mandalorian, the Star Wars Disney+ series that led the way, fans have high hopes for the upcoming show.

As we draw closer to Obi-Wan Kenobi’s premiere, we are getting more and more details about the series, which has been kept under wraps for so long. Actors are creating buzz on social media by showing off souvenirs to the wider public teasing at what is to come. The hype is continuing to build among the fandom. Hopefully Obi-Wan Kenobi will live up to said hype. Since it is revolving around a classic character, and involves the return of many prequel era actors and actresses, the show will be definitely be very special to many of us.

Obi-Wan Kenobi is set to release on Disney+ some time in 2022.
