Jasper ai and ChatGPT Write a Country Song

I love pushing the edges of NLP (Natural Language Processing) and seeing how the creativity improves over time. Recently with ChatGPT coming on the scene it has also been fun to compare it to my go-to favorite, Jasper.ai.

I’m not a song writer, so I don’t know how the below results stack up to what a professional country song writer would write. So, please weigh-in with your responses of which song you think is better and why. Read after the songs for my conclusions.

Conclusions

• I really like that ChatGPT understood that it should divide the song into verses, chorus, bridge, and even an outro. Jasper made the song into one long, unbroken song, so I had to put in line breaks (and I’m not sure if those breaks are the best ones.)
• Although the ChatGPT output seems more sophisticated (and perhaps overall a better song), it totally missed the point that country folks generally prefer the country to the city! I can probably work to improve what Jasper gave me, but the ChatGPT song just doesn’t work for the genre. Or, does it for being out-of-the-country-box?!
• Jasper.ai had to provide the titles. When I asked ChatGPT to provide a title to the song it had “just written” it gave me an error.
• I don’t know if I’ll be quitting my day job anytime soon to write country songs, but hey, Nashville, feel free to drop me a line if you think there’s potential. I do have a horse (several actually), miles of dirt roads, barb-wire fences, wide-open spaces, and I can see the Milky Way at night. Just sayin’.
