Kelly Marie Tran Describes 'Star Wars' Fan Harassment Like An "Embarrassingly Horrible Breakup"
Kelly Marie Tran's trajectory as it relates to Star Wars is one that has resulted in her reflecting a lot about the experience. She starred in Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi as Rose Tico, whose sister Paige Tico dies heroically in battle. Rose, along with John Boyega's character Finn, goes on a side mission to Canto Bight in an attempt to gain an advantage against the First Order as it hunts down the Resistance. During this mission, Rose tries teaching Finn about the ugly side of wealthy and lavish places in the galaxy. This subplot drew a lot of criticism, and as a result, the character of Rose, as well as Kelly Marie Tran herself in some circles, became the target of online ridicule.

The Disney era of Star Wars promised a lot of different things. One of them was a Star Wars themed section of the parks. In 2015, fans started looking forward to the completion of what was dubbed "Star Wars Land" in many circles. Eventually, it got its own official name, which was Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. The one at Disneyland in Anaheim, California opened up on May 31, 2019, and the one at Disney World in Orlando, Florida opened on August 29, 2019. There were even a few books and comics released around this time that tied into Galaxy's Edge, feeding into the hype.

I finally finished watching the Mandalorian, both seasons, and I’m left with more questions. As last we saw it could go in so many different directions. My first thought was about Grogu (the child) and what becomes of him. I’m very curious on his origin. Is there a planet of Yoda type creatures that he somehow managed to be taken from? Why wasn’t anyone else looking for him? There was a reference to Grogu seeing the darksaber before. How did he escape?

Culture SlatePublished 3 years ago in FuturismCommander Cody May Be Used In 'The Bad Batch' Through An Unused Storyline From 'Rebels'
Star Wars fans are now just a couple of months away from the series premiere of The Clone Wars spin-off Star Wars: The Bad Batch, a 3D-animated series which premieres May the 4th on Disney+ and takes place around the time that the Galactic Republic becomes the Galactic Empire. Based on the marketing that has been presented for the fanbase, the show promises to bring back familiar faces such as Wilhuff Tarkin and The Mandalorian's Fennec Shand. There are various familiar faces that could pop up in this time period, and one such possibility is Commander Cody.

Last week, Lucasfilm and Walt Disney Company announced that Star Wars: The Bad Batch will air on May the 4th, 2021, also known as Star Wars Day. We have already seen a preview of the animated show when the trailer was released back in December 2020. Among the Bad Batch clones, who are the protagonists of the show, we see another character from The Mandalorian that we have come to love: the sniper Fennec Shand.

Voice actor Dee Bradley Baker really breathed life into the clone troopers throughout the run of Star Wars: The Clone Wars. While the clones did not display much personality in the live-action films, the TV series had the time to flesh out various clone troopers, giving them their own quirks and slight differences in how they speak.

Star Wars has been expanding on the live-action television front via the Disney+ streaming service. And perhaps the highest anticipated live-action series from the franchise that has yet to premiere is the Obi-Wan Kenobi series. The series starts filming late spring according to Ewan McGregor, who is reprising the role that he played (and made so meme-able) in the prequel trilogy. Not only that, but Hayden Christensen will be reprising his role as Anakin Skywalker turned Darth Vader. And if rumors that Temuera Morrison could be playing Commander Cody again are true (and he seems like he would probably be down for such a return, given how much fun he had playing Boba Fett on The Mandalorian), then this is sure to please fans who are very nostalgic for prequel era characters and actors.

Admittedly, when it comes to lightsabers, I do not tend to memorize their designs by heart. In putting together this list, however, I tried looking back at what lightsaber designs stand out to me the most (in a good way). It just so happens that the ones I selected are from canon. Here is a top ten list of lightsabers ranked by design.
Culture SlatePublished 3 years ago in FuturismDid Han Solo Really Know Rey's Lineage?
Without a doubt, one of the most controversial things to come out of the Star Wars sequel trilogy was the revelation in The Rise of Skywalker that Rey is the granddaughter of Sheev Palpatine. While Daisy Ridley had played the character in The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi under the guiding idea that the character came from no important bloodline, J.J. Abrams pitched the idea of her being a Palpatine as the last chapter of the Skywalker saga was being made.
Culture SlatePublished 3 years ago in FuturismDaisy Ridley Did Not Know Rey's Lineage During 'The Force Awakens'
During the marketing for Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens, fans started to speculate who exactly Rey could be. As we all know by this point, she is the granddaughter of Senator Chancellor Emperor Darth Sidious Sheev Palpatine. This revelation in Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker was disappointing to those who loved the idea of "Rey Nobody" that seemed to have been confirmed in Episode VIII - The Last Jedi. On the other hand, the "Rey Nobody" revelation was disappointing to some who expected Rey to be related to someone important, because some believed that the character had to be related to someone important in order to be powerful.
Culture SlatePublished 3 years ago in FuturismThe Reason That The Rule Of Two Doesn't Make A Lot Of Sense
For thousands of years, the Sith and Jedi have been at war, fighting to control the balance of the Force. The Jedi seek to protect and defend innocent lives within the Republic while the Sith desire only dominance over the galaxy. By its very nature, the dark side requires great aggression and anger to draw upon, requiring the user to bend the Force to their will. This is in contrast to the Jedi who seek to submit to the will of the Force, living in symbiosis with its will. Over the millennia, many victories have been claimed on both sides, by light and dark, but few events or individuals have changed the scope of this conflict like Darth Bane. Following the fall of Lord Kaan's Brotherhood of Darkness at the Seventh Battle of Ruusan, the sole survivor of the Sith, Darth Bane, forged a new path for the disciples of the dark side called the Rule of Two. The history of the Sith is obscured in shadow and deception, and as such, what we know of them is often regarded as legend, still awaiting confirmation in the current canon.
