Biggest Unanswered Questions We Have From 'The Book Of Boba Fett'

Tatooine...It's Convenient

The dust has now settled, and the twin suns of Tatooine are setting as The Book Of Boba Fett has reached its grand finale. There are certainly very mixed feelings out there on the series. Like The Last Jedi, The Book Of Boba Fett took a different approach to Star Wars storytelling. However, with The Book Of Boba Fett, a lot of that was the fact that the titular hero was not the main focus of every episode.

It was undoubtedly a brave move to have The Book Of Boba Fett have episodes where the man himself was not the star of his own show! There were many questions before The Book Of Boba Fett started; some were answered as the show progressed. As the series reached its finale, many questions were left to be answered.

What Happened To Tatooine?

“Well, if there’s a bright center to the universe... you’re on the planet that it’s farthest from” - Luke Skywalker in A New Hope. Over the years, this remote, dull, sand planet became the center of the universe, with many stories originating from and on it! The Book Of Boba Fett was no exception to that, with nearly all of the action involving Boba Fett being almost exclusively Tatooine bound. So when did it become a significant planet of interest? It made sense that Jabba The Hutt based himself there as it was supposedly out of the way, so an excellent place to lay low and be under the radar while his operations and empire reached out elsewhere in the galaxy. In The Book Of Boba Fett, there seems to have been some significant expansion going on now that it’s a central hub for travelers, not to mention a lucrative place for different crime syndicates to operate.

Will Boba Fett ever leave Tatooine?

The Book of Boba Fett set its flag firmly in the sands of Tatooine. So it made sense to build his story around life on Tatooine, from his escape from the Sarlacc to his capture and eventual acceptance into a Tusken tribe. Will Boba Fett ever leave Tatooine now that he seems to have found a purpose there, or will the galaxy demand more of him elsewhere?

How Many Tusken Tribes Are There?

One of the most interesting episodes in The Book Of Boba Fett was episode two, where we see Boba Fett have a flashback to the time following his escape from the Sarlacc as he gets in deeper with the Tusken tribe, whose respect he earned in episode one. Unfortunately, the entire tribe has been massacred by episode three. Tatooine is a large planet, and it’s hard to believe that this Tusken trice was the only one in existence. So are there more Tusken tribes out there? Do they have the same approach to life as those that welcomed Boba Fett to their fold, or do they have different customs?

Is Cad Bane Really Dead?

There was a lot of excitement when Cad Bane appeared in The Book Of Boba Fett. It was great to see another animated character make the jump to live-action. However, while it did seem very final at the end, we know that characters in the Star Wars universe have a lot of inner strength and resilience and an unnatural ability to avoid death. So the question is, did Cad Bane survive his showdown with Boba Fett? Was The Book Of Boba Fett the final chapter in Cad Bane’s story, or will he live to fight another day?

What Impact Did Grogu’s Decision Have On Luke Skywalker And The Force?

Chapter six of The Book Of Boba Fett had fans whooping with joy as we had the return of Luke Skywalker with him starting to give Grogu Jedi training. At the end of the episode, Grogu is presented with the choice to stay and receive Yoda’s lightsaber or leave to be with Din Djarin and receive a set of Beskar mail armor. In episode seven, Grogu is delivered to Tatooine in an X-Wing piloted by R2-D2. Again, Luke’s absence was very telling.

We did not see the decision being made by Grogu, but one can only assume that Luke not accompanying Grogu to Tatooine means that he did not take it well. On the other hand, Luke seemed pretty sure of himself in episode six, so could Grogu’s decision have rocked his confidence in a major way. It must be disconcerting having your first student walk away from you so willingly. Could this be another piece of the puzzle that leads us to the Luke Skywalker we see in The Last Jedi? What impact does this have on the Force itself, if any?

Will There Be A Season 2?

So the most obvious question is will The Book Of Boba Fett get a Season 2? These days, the nature of streaming services is that all series get bundled into seasons. Therefore, although The Book Of Boba Fett is listed as Season 1, that does not mean that Season 2 is guaranteed. It should be noted that the Obi-Wan Kenobi series is advertised as a limited series which probably indicates that it will be a one-off series, but the episodes will no doubt be listed under Season 1. However, this was not the case for The Book Of Boba Fett, so there is a chance that Boba Fett’s adventures could continue.

No announcements have been made that the series will continue, and it certainly ended in such a way that the story could end right where it did with the characters continuing their journeys in other shows rather than another season of The Book Of Boba Fett. Watch this space on that one!
