Ahsoka Actress Gives Hilarious Response To Her Character's Whereabouts

It Is A Fair Question

If there is one Star Wars character that is well-liked by everyone as since they were first introduced, it is Anakin Skywalker’s Padawan learner Ahsoka Tano. Okay, that is not true at all, but her character had developed a great deal throughout The Clone Wars animated series. She eventually became one of the most popular characters not portrayed in the movies. As she grew and matured, it became more interesting to see her trials and tribulations during arguably the worst time in the history of the galaxy. Such was her eventual popularity that when it came time to create more Star Wars content, she was a natural choice for her own series on top of her appearances in The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett. However, her appearances in The Clone Wars series brought up some questions for fans, namely, "What was she doing during the events of the original trilogy?"

It is a fair question. She is not the kind of character to just sit on the sidelines with popcorn, watching sports, and hoping that everything will just kind of sort itself out. She is the kind of character that has to be out fighting the good fight and trying to protect the innocents of the galaxy as seen in The Mandalorian. So where was she?

Obviously, most of the problem is that she was created far after the original trilogy. Return of the Jedi was released in 1983, and Ahsoka did not make her first appearance in anything Star Wars-related until 2008's The Clone Wars. That is obviously going to make the explanation of what she was doing a bit more complicated.

Well, Rosario Dawson has an answer.

Dawson, who plays Ahsoka in the live-action Star Wars media such as the aforementioned The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett, makes light of the question on Twitter. She has retweeted a picture of herself as Ahsoka playing on her phone that someone had captioned "Ahsoka during the battle of Yavin, the Battle of Hoth, and the Battle of Endor."

Amusing for sure, but Dawson also clarifies "I mean… it’s a big galaxy with a lot of baddies… you know she be fightin’ the good fight always…"

Now, this does bring back memories of the question "Why didn't Captain Marvel, who was pretty much god, swoop in and stop Thanos in five seconds?" which had a pretty similar answer of "Hey, there's lots to do, and I can't be everywhere at once." Of course, Ahsoka, as powerful as she has become, is not a god-tier character who could have defeated Palpatine in five seconds...unless the upcoming Ahsoka miniseries takes a completely different direction than I'm expecting.

Unlike Thanos, who was pretty much the problem in the universe, the Empire has many arms controlling tens of thousands of worlds, and Ahsoka is not some god-tier Jedi. It will be interesting to see exactly what she has been doing during her miniseries. After all, we already know what she is doing after the fall of the Empire thanks to The Mandalorian. As Dawson accurately states, the galaxy has a lot of baddies in it. Ahsoka might not even be fighting the Empire proper, though the odds of her not stabbing a single stormtrooper with her lightsabers are pretty low. She might not be in a position where she can make it to the Rebellion, but she is going to do everything she can to make even a small difference in the galaxy.

The galaxy will never run out of baddies to fight, and nobody could hope to beat them all. Ahsoka will not quit as long as there is injustice in the galaxy. There are more ways to help that than joining the Rebellion to fight the Empire directly.

On the other hand, Dawson could be spoiling things for us, and Ahsoka will be her playing Angry Birds Star Wars while the galaxy burns around her.
