Wanna a good fuck? Or a good job?

Reality in 2021 in the United States of America

Will vocal.media refuse to publish some well-thought personal opinions, because those opinions are not verifiable by Harvard or Stanford scientific surveys. When did personal opinions cease to be relevant?

What exactly are the reasons vocal.media exists? What is their mandate? What are the stated and unstated goals of this curated blog site? Only the people in charge can answer those questions.

In the meantime, I will say what I think, with or without vocal.media publication approval. It is noticeable, video versions of my articles often get 10 to 20 times as many views on archive.org than the print versions do on vocal.media. The word gets out. One way or another.

If we had to choose. Most of us would settle for a good job. Keep the cash flow going, and worry about our private parts later. In stressful times, most people grow practical, dealing the world in the order of importance. Will Smokey Joe deliver the goods? Poke us all with Covid-vaccine and fill America with unicorns and rainbows? It seems unlikely any our current crop of elected officials will deliver the goods. They are far too busy with Democratic and Republican turf wars. The wars, of course, being much more important to them than the daily lives and daily needs of 370 million citizens.

If the leaders of government continue to be incompetent, shall with throw our hope and loyalty at the feet of our corporate leaders, the people who do, in reality, create millions of jobs and pay people money on predictable schedules? Well. Many of them are no more competent than the government leaders. In my own town, the leaders of Boeing are ultimately, personally responsible for 346 human dead bodies. In other towns, other leaders may not cause people to die, but they can certainly cause misery, through unemployment and wages which keep some people working, while living in their cars, and cause thousands more to fall months behind on mortgage payments. In Los Angeles, a significant percentage of employees at Disneyland, before Covid, when they were able to work, lived in their cars. Bernie Sanders pointed this out, and hosted a national broadcast, talking with a few Mickey Mouse actors, and with employees of Amazon, and Walmart.

Having said all this. Who can we rely on? Simply put: Ourselves. Each other. Normal people, relying on each other. Set aside the giant, national fear of Covid. And get on with our lives. Regardless of anything the leaders of government or corporations choose to do, or not to do. It is noticeable how people often work well together for the common good, without any involvement of government or business. Communities and neighborhoods taking care of their own. This has been going on in rural communities for decades, and in some parts of some large cities as well. I am talking about the decentralization of social responsibility, and personal responsibility which extends to people living within a radius of 50 miles of your own home. This does not apply, of course, to Bill Gates or Jeff Bezos. Twenty thousand homeless people live with a 50 mile radius of their homes, and apparently that is an irrelevant point in their worldview. This is similar to the ruling class in India, where millions of desperately poor people live within a 50 mile radius of the rich people.

If most Americans simply get on with their lives, helping their neighbors, building strong communities, most of the problems of our current civilization will naturally resolve themselves. We do not need to be told over and over again--- White people abuse black people. Most white people never abuse black people, and most black people are sick of hearing that noise, inaccurate rhetoric. Most people do not live that way, ever! That is only one example of how agendas, pushed on a national level, have nothing at all in common with how most people actually live their lives.
