From Belinda Effah to Ice Prince.

In case you didn't know, the internet has been ablaze. Celebrities have been sounding off about the recent rise in women going on Instagram live to twerk naked and do very explicit things.

In case you missed everything that has been happening, it all started when Nigerian rapper, Slimcase, hosted an Instagram Live session where he offered women N20,000 to come and dance on his IG Live. This comes after American rapper Tory Lanez had his Instagram page deactivated for doing the same thing. Tory hosted a show called "Quarantine Radio" on Instagram Live that garnered over 300,000 views and the women who called in did way more than just dance, they got really explicit.

Following these instances of Tory Lanez and Slimcase, all over social media, people have been letting very loose and now celebrities are on divided camps about the issue.

So, now that you're all caught up, let me take you right into the drama that's happening right now.

It all started when Nollywood actress, Belinda Effah, posted this picture saying:

She posted this with the caption: "Innocent Thoughts ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฝ"

Nice and simple. No problem in sight.

That wasn't until another Nollywood actress, Moyo Lawal, commented on Belinda's picture.

Moyo Lawal said in regards to the picture:

But the women were not forced na ๐Ÿ˜’ ... or is there smt am missing ?

This comment led into a bunch of people commenting under Moyo's post agreeing with her saying:

God bless you.. Nobody forced them. not all the girls that twerked, twerked for money. Some were twerking for recognition, more followers and a lot of things. These girls aren't underaged, they are matured ladies. Are you rich, are you very very comfortable? Yet you chose not to twerk. I'm not saying this cos I'm a guy. Most of these celebrities had no prize attached until people asked them to make it a competition

Having seen all of the pandemonium that her post caused, Belinda took once again to her Instagram and her response this time around was very pointed, clearly at Moyo. The actress posted this picture:

And wrote this caption saying:

Women Is this How Much You Hate Yourselves?

Is This The Much Insecurity You Possess ? .

Ok Let Me Explain - If You Have A Sister Or A Mother That Is Into Prostitution or Drugs or Have A Drinking Problem, Wonโ€™t You Look For Ways To Rehabilitate The People You Love Despite The Fact That They Are Mature and are of Age Yet They Have Their Weaknesses? .

Will You Allow Them Go To Places Where They Can Easily Have Access To Men or Drugs Or Alcohol? Wonโ€™t You Fight With Everything You Have To Get Them Out Of The Bad Habit Just Because You Want Better For Them? I Mean You Will Even Battle God In Prayer To Deliver Them.

I Read The Comments And I Felt Sick In The Pit Of My Tummy , To Think Most Of These Comments Came From Women Is Sickening.

If Your Sister Or Friend Is In An Abusive Marriage, Wonโ€™t You Finds Ways To Get Her Out of It? I Bet You Will Say - Leave Her She Is An Adult , No One Forced Her Into It. How Hateful Can You People Be ?

My Point To The Men Is This, Do Not Promote This Evil , Do Not Encourage This Just To Satisfy Whatever You Are Satisfying Just Because These Women Have Weaknesses. True No One Forced Them But You Can Make A Difference By Not Patronizing Them, That Way You Help Curb The Menace.

Women We Are Our Own Problem . Everyone Is Forming No One Forced Her . Bad Is The New Good Abi? So Itโ€™s Cool To Act Bad , Meanwhile You Go To Bed Fighting Your Insecurities, Wondering What You Have Gotten Yourself Into. Likes , Comments, Followers Are All Fickle. They Donโ€™t Follow You To That Bed At Night When You Cry Wishing For A Normal Life.

Use Your Head ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฝ

Good Night - Make Sure You Donโ€™t Cry Yourself To Sleep ๐Ÿ˜˜

Woo! Okay. Did it end there? No.

Moyo Lawal obviously catching that Belinda was directing this response to her said in a direct response to Belinda's post:

Uuuum.... Belinda I commented that no one forced them..... Hate themselves?? So dancing is a sin, some of this women you see dance don't do anything ... But u see the ones that don't nothing on line......... ..... Those are the ones who do worse.... We are not talking drugs, prostitution or even abusive marriages here, that's a totally different ballgame hun...... .... If I told you, some strippers are more decent than ladies who are always covered up, would that shock you??..... ...... I think upbringing matters a lot, just because I see some people drinking, smoking all the time does that mean I should go and join them?? If I join them will I be blaming the smokers or drinkers?? No my love, they didn't force me......... .... Bring up a child properly so peerpressure won't allow them do things that ** might not neccesarily be bad**..... ....... abi will you say people stealing right now are right?? Because the government refused to give them food?? So the government enabled and encouraged stealing???

If you thought Moyo stopped there, nope! She carried on in another reply:

Also which one is insecurity and crying yourself to sleep because of normal life..... ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚Belinda because of people dancing? I haven't been on any live since the beginning of this quarantine, so I can't really say..... ..... But I can assure you, its not that deep jare โ™ฅ๏ธ

Whoo!

So following this, a number of Nollywood celebrities reacted.

Mary Lazarus posted raised hands of praise for Belinda:

๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿ™Œ

Actress Kate Henshaw took to Twitter to write:

About the whole IG Live dancing, rapper Ice Prince had some choice words to say to the men who set these up, specifically asking them to take it easy because children could see it. He wrote:

But Nigerian celebrity stylist, Swanky Jerry, didn't think that people should be getting offended over these posts and videos. He posted saying:

Wow! There's a lot for you to unpack here. What side do you stand on? Are you with Belinda Effah, Kate Henshaw, and Ice Prince who think it's too far and should be stopped, or are you with Team Moyo Lawal and Swanky Jerry who think this is no big deal.
