Consent is the most important thing in all relationships especially kinky acts. While doing research for another post I stumbled on to other helpful tools in teaching consent. I decided to share them here.

I have also shared about prick and rack in a previous post.

First is the 4 Cs. These are not new topics, but this is a new way to present them. They are so important.

The first C is caring for partner or partners. This is self-explanatory. If the person you're with doesn't care about you why are you with them? Also if you don't care about the person why are you with them? Pay attention to your partner and their needs. This includes aftercare.

The most important C is consent. Consent means everyone freely agrees to what’s happening, with the ability to say no or withdraw consent. No consent no kink. If you hear no and you keep going that's assault which is illegal.

Then communication which means discuss boundaries, desires, limits, expectations, and aftercare before and during play. Even if you are with the same partner every time you should be discussing it every time something happens.

Also caution which means consider physical and emotional risks, use appropriate safety practices, and know your limits. Also be cautious with partners who are drunk or high. Do not play with people who are drunk or high, don't play if YOU are drunk or high. That saves you from not remembering or understanding anything that took place. Also drunk or high people will not know what they are doing to someone else.

Then there's also FRIES! FRIES has to do with the basics of consent. F is for freely given. Freely given means no pressure, coercion, or manipulation. If you have to convince someone then is it worth it? R is for reversible. Consent can be taken back. You can change your mind. I is for informed. You have to know what you agreed to, the whole thing. E is for enthusiastic. That means it has to be a yes, not a maybe or an I guess or anything similar. S is for specific. This means consent to on thing doesn't mean you consent to something else.

Just to refresh from my other post I will go through the other consent ideas for BDSM. These should be the first thing you should learn when you start having sex or doing kinky things.

RACK is one of the first thing that I heard about in this realm. RA stands for risk aware. Participants understand the potential physical and emotional risks. You know how to avoid harm or injury. With this you know that you and your partner should avoid drugs and alcohol. C is for consent. Which means everyone involved freely agrees and can withdraw consent.

PRICK is another idea from this realm. Prick stands for personal responsibility, informed consent kink. So what does that mean? It means taking personal responsibility for your choices and anything that may have gone wrong because of those choices. It also means you are informed about the activities and the risks. In this way of conduct you have to get consent and only doing things when you have consent. Pricks exists to remind you that BDSM/kink is something that can involve intentional and negotiated risk.

Then safe, sane, consensual which is usually the first thing you hear when you get into the lifestyle. Safe is when you take reasonable steps to reduce physical and emotional risks. Safe is also when you know what you are doing. Safe is also knowing what to do when things go wrong. Sane is when you make decisions with clear judgement and awareness of what you're doing. Basically don't do things when you're mad, upset, grieving, tired, high, drunk or otherwise not in your right mind. Consensual is when everyone involved freely agrees and is into it. You can also withdraw consent.

Before you get a partner or do anything in the lifestyle, you should know these. You should also know how to do what you're into.
