"You good, man?" Damien yelled over the din, clapping him on the shoulder. Damien, a seasoned sophomore with a devil-may-care grin, was already navigating the crowded living room, a solo cup perpetually in hand. Nick, fresh out of his small-town bubble and still reeling from his first week of college, just nodded, trying to appear nonchalant.

He watched Damien disappear into a throng of gyrating bodies, feeling suddenly, acutely alone. The air was thick with the scent of cheap beer, sweat, and something vaguely floral. Nick leaned against a wall adorned with faded pennants, trying to blend in. That's when he saw her.

Shannon. She was leaning against the DJ booth, laughing at something a guy with a backwards baseball cap was saying. Her dark hair cascaded over one shoulder, and her eyes, even from a distance, sparkled with an undeniable mischief. When her gaze swept across the room, it snagged on Nick. A slow, confident smile spread across her lips, and she pushed off the booth, making her way toward him.

"Hey," she said, her voice a low murmur that somehow cut through the noise. "You look a little lost. First time at a Theta Psi party?"

Nick felt a blush creep up his neck. "Yes. Is it that obvious?"

She chuckled, a rich, warm sound. "A little. I'm Shannon."

"Nick."

They talked for what felt like minutes, or maybe hours. She asked him about his classes, about where he was from, and listened with genuine interest. She made him laugh, made him feel comfortable in a way no one else had since he'd arrived. There was an undeniable pull, a current of electricity that crackled between them.

"This music is getting a little much," Shannon said, leaning closer, her breath warm against his ear. "Want to find somewhere quieter?"

Nick's heart hammered. He knew what she was implying, and a thrill, both terrifying and exhilarating, shot through him. He'd never even held a girl's hand past a quick friendly squeeze, let alone this. But looking into her expectant eyes, seeing the genuine invitation there, something in him shifted. He was tired of being the shy, inexperienced kid. This was college. This was his chance.

"Yeah," he managed, his voice a little hoarse. "Yeah, I'd like that."

She took his hand, her touch surprisingly gentle, and led him through the hallway, up the creaking staircase. Each step was a beat of anticipation, a silent question and answer. As they reached the top landing, a wave of quieter music and hushed conversation washed over them. Shannon turned, her smile was soft, and pulled him into one of the dimly lit bedrooms, the door shut behind them, muffling the party's roar into a distant hum.

The soft glow of the bedside lamp painted the upstairs bedroom in hues of amber and shadow, which was a perfect stage for the evening's unfolding. Nick, with a half-smile playing on his lips, began to unbutton his jeans. The day had been long, but the anticipation building between him and Shannon had been a welcome undercurrent, a silent promise whispered in stolen glances across the dinner table.

As his fingers worked the buttons, his gaze drifted across the room to where Shannon stood by the dresser. Her hands, delicate yet purposeful, reached for the hem of her skirt. The fabric, a light summer linen, whispered down her legs, pooling around her ankles in a soft sigh. Then, with a fluid motion that stole Nick's breath, she slipped her matching lace panties down.

His eyes widened, captivated. The sight of her bare skin, the curve of her lower back, and then it was that ass. It was magnificent.
