The grin in his voice promised trouble, and she knew, with a sinking certainty, that her quiet evening was about to get very, very complicated. She backed away from the door, frantically looking for something, anything, to make her look less like a woman who’d just had a very intense solo session. The housewarming party was about to get an uninvited, and very reluctant, guest.
Kelly leaned against the closed door, a mischievous smile playing on her lips. Steve, indeed. And very attractive, as if the universe itself had decided to answer her frustrated plea. His nervousness only made him more endearing, a stark contrast to her own simmering desire. She could feel the lingering heat between her legs, a persistent thrum that had been demanding attention all evening. The fisting attempt, while a definite novelty, had clearly not been the solution. Now, however, a new, more promising avenue had opened up.
She glanced down at her silk robe, a whisper of fabric against her still-damp skin. Five minutes. That was all she’d promised. Time to transform from frustrated recluse to tantalizing temptress. She walked briskly into her bedroom, the earlier bitterness completely replaced by a thrilling anticipation. Her fingers flew to the rack, bypassing the usual comfortable options and zeroing in on a little black dress she reserved for special occasions – or, apparently, for impromptu housewarming parties thrown by handsome, nervous strangers. It was short, clung in all the right places, and had a neckline that plunged just enough to be suggestive without being overt. She paired it with stilettos that added an extra inch of confidence to her stride.
A quick application of smoky eyeshadow and a bold red lipstick completed the look. She took a moment to admire herself in the mirror. The woman staring back was no longer the frustrated Kelly who had been battling her own libido. This Kelly was vibrant, predatory even, ready to seize the night.
When she opened the door, Steve was still standing there, a hopeful but slightly bewildered expression on his face. His eyes widened as they raked over her, a blush creeping up his neck.
“Ready,” she purred, her voice a low, husky invitation. She stepped out, pulling the door shut behind her. The scent of her perfume, a heady mix of jasmine and musk, enveloped him.
“Wow,” he managed, clearly lost for words.
Kelly grinned, a genuine, uninhibited grin that reached her eyes. “Lead the way, Steve. Let’s see what kind of trouble we can get into.” She linked her arm through his, her touch sending a jolt through them both. His initial nervousness seemed to melt away, replaced by a confident, almost eager smile. The night, she realized with a thrill, had only just begun. And something told her this party was going to be very interesting indeed.
Kelly, still enveloped in the soft embrace of her silk robe, took a deep breath, the scent of her own lavender body wash clinging to her. Across the narrow hall, the door to Apartment 6F, the notorious bachelor pad of the building, stood slightly ajar, spilling the faint sounds of a video game and male laughter.
Not believing what she was about to do, Kelly pushed the door open the rest of the way. Three pairs of eyes, belonging to Mark, Liam, and the quieter, brooding Alex, swiveled towards her, their faces registering varying degrees of surprise and confusion. Their gaming consoles lay momentarily forgotten.
“Hi boys,” she said, her voice a little breathy, but surprisingly steady. Before any of them could stutter out a reply, she let the silken fabric of her robe slide from her shoulders, pooling in a shimmering heap at her feet.
