"I get that it's your birthday, but why did your ex send you this expensive watch?" Camila Mendes's voice, usually a melodic hum, was laced with a low growl I knew all too well. Her manicured finger tapped the pristine face of the platinum timepiece resting in its velvet box on my coffee table. The air in our cozy living room, usually filled with the scent of her favorite sandalwood candle, was now thick with an unspoken challenge.
I leaned back into the plush cushions of the sofa, a smirk playing on my lips. "She wants me back, Cami. And honestly, with a piece like this" I paused, letting the words hang tantalizingly. "It's tempting. You may have to get on your knees to convince me to stay." My gaze dropped pointedly from her blazing eyes to her perfectly formed mouth.
Her jaw clenched, and for a fleeting second, I saw a flicker of genuine hurt, quickly replaced by a fire that could melt steel. "Don't play about that. You know how I get it!" She stood, planting her hands on her hips, her slender frame radiating a dangerous energy. The silk robe she wore, usually a sensual invitation, now seemed to ripple with her indignation.
I let out a soft sigh, rising to meet her. My hands reached for her waist, pulling her flush against me. The anger in her eyes was still there, but beneath it, I could feel the tremor of her body, the familiar current that always ran between us.
"You know, if you want a blowjob," I whispered, my lips brushing her ear, "you can just ask, baby. You don't have to play with my feelings by pretending an ex's gaudy gift means anything to me." My fingers trailed down her spine, coming to rest at the gentle curve of her ass.
Her breath hitched. The anger in her eyes softened, replaced by a smoldering heat that mirrored my own. "Gaudy?" she breathed, the word a mere wisp against my neck. "It's a Patek Philippe, you ass." But her hands were already finding their way beneath my t-shirt, her nails lightly scratching my back.
"Still gaudy compared to you," I murmured, tilting her chin up. Her lips, full and pouty, were inches from mine. "That watch can't do this, can it?" I grazed her bottom lip with my thumb, feeling it swell. "It can't make me forget the world exists just by looking at me."
A low moan escaped her. "You're infuriating," she whispered, her eyes fluttering shut as I finally captured her mouth. The kiss was hungry, a mixture of passion and the lingering, delicious tension we’d just created. Her hands gripped my hair, pulling me closer, erasing any doubt. The watch lay forgotten on the table, its expensive tick no match for the rapid beat of our hearts. Some gifts, after all, couldn't be bought.
The day had been a whirlwind of laughter, shared meals, and the easy rhythm of our love, culminating in a birthday dinner that left my heart as full as my stomach. Now, with the world outside hushed, it was just us and the soft whisper of our breaths.
"I love you too," she murmured against my ear, her voice a low purr that sent shivers down my spine. Her fingers, light as butterfly wings, trailed from my shoulder, across my chest, and then, with a playful squeeze, settled on my hip. "And that reminds me," she continued, a mischievous glint in her eyes when she pulled back just enough to meet my gaze. "I have your second gift."
Before I could even process what she meant, her hand, warm and knowing, slid lower. A gasp caught in my throat as her fingertips brushed against the burgeoning desire beneath the silk boxers. Her touch was feather-light at first, a teasing exploration, then she began to rub, slow and deliberate, igniting a fire that had been smoldering all evening.
