Celeb Fun

part 185

By Forest GreenPublished 2 months ago • 3 min read

Hollywood was a gilded cage, and Sydney  was its most dazzling captive. Her laugh, a sparkling melody, echoed through studios and across red carpets. Men worshipped her, their gazes clinging to her every elegant curve, every perfect strand of blonde hair. Women, with practiced smiles, confessed to wanting her flawless skin, her effortless grace, her seemingly boundless success. Sydney was the sun, and everyone in her orbit felt its warmth, even if some were scorched by its intensity.

Alexa was a different kind of celestial body – a dark star, intensely magnetic but rarely acknowledged. Her beauty was raw, a smoldering ember beneath a cascade of midnight hair and eyes that held untold stories. She possessed the kind of allure that made men clear their throats nervously, their wives’ hands tightening on their arms. Alexa was the whisper in the night, the forbidden fantasy. She was the one they’d stumble into a dimly lit bar to see, but never bring home to meet their mothers.

The soft murmur of the exclusive restaurant was a familiar soundtrack to Sydney. Tonight, however, it felt less like a backdrop and more like a hushed conspirator. She took a slow sip of her chilled Sauvignon Blanc, the delicate crystal cool against her lips, and met Alexa’s gaze across the flickering candlelight.

“So, you finally decided to grace this city with your presence,” Sydney purred, her smile a well-practiced artifice that barely reached her glittering eyes. The diamonds at her throat caught the light, refracting it into tiny, blinding explosions.

Alexa’s own smile, wolfish and direct, didn’t waver. “And you, my dear, look as if you’ve been waiting.” Her dark eyes, framed by the severe bangs, flickered down Sydney’s form, lingering for a fraction of a second on the curve of her strapless dress before meeting Sydney’s gaze again. The bangles on Alexa’s wrists chimed faintly as she adjusted her posture, the movement subtly drawing attention to the sleek lines of her black gown.

“Waiting for what, precisely?” Sydney countered, a hint of steel entering her tone. The air between them, usually thick with the scent of jasmine and expensive perfume, now seemed charged with something else – anticipation, perhaps, or a subtle challenge.

Alexa leaned forward slightly, her voice dropping to a low, husky register that was almost lost in the ambient hum. “For the other shoe to drop, perhaps? Or for a reunion long overdue.” Her gaze was frankly assessing, a predatory glint that belied the sweetness of her smile.

Sydney’s heart gave a barely perceptible flutter, a small rebellion against her usual composure. Alexa always had that effect on her, a disarming intensity that cut through Sydney's polished façade. “Some reunions are best left in the past, Alexa.”

“And some, Sydney,” Alexa countered, her voice now a silken whisper that seemed to caress the very air, “are merely delayed. Tell me, has the city been kind to you in my absence? Or have you found yourself longing for a touch of the familiar?”

The candlelight danced in Sydney’s eyes, obscuring the precise flicker of emotion there. The waiter arrived with their appetizers, temporarily breaking the spell. As he placed the delicate plates before them, a subtle scent of truffle wafted into the air, a luxurious distraction. But the unspoken words, the lingering tension, remained, a promise of a night that would be anything but ordinary. Sydney picked up her fork, but her eyes never quite left Alexa’s. This was going to be an interesting evening indeed.

The soft brush of their fingertips, a silent language understood only by them, sent a shiver tracing its way up Sydney's arm. She glanced at Alexa, her eyes catching the glint of mischief dancing in the darker woman’s gaze, and a sudden, delicious warmth bloomed in her cheeks. She quickly ducked her head, a blonde curtain of hair offering a flimsy shield for her tell-tale blush.
