Art School Orgy by Stewart Home

Art School Orgy by Stewart Home has been described as the ‘sickest book ever written’ and it might well be so depending on your own moral compass and, in parts, how delicate your stomach is. This could certainly be Home’s most outrageous yet and in parts it is a very unsettling read. Unsettling it might be but once started it is almost impossible to look away from or put down.

The book follows the totally fictitious BDSM exploits of an art student called David Hockney at the RCA, the Republican College of Art in the heart of early 1960’s Swinging London.

A reader totally transfixed by Art School Orgy

It’s an extremely well crafted book. Stewart Home knows exactly what he’s doing when it comes to the fine art of manipulation, manipulation of both text and the reader’s imagination. Time after time one finds oneself thinking ‘Did he just say that? Do that?’ And every time the answer is ‘Yes!’.

By the time you’ve finished reading this book you will have learned more about BDSM than you ever thought there was to actually know as the young Hockney is trained and trained again by his fellow art student and dom, Kitaj.

As well as being about BDSM Art School Orgy is also a book about London and there are many places described in the book that readers might want to visit one day after reading about Hockney’s sexual exploits at or near them. The Sepentine for one you will never view in the same way after reading this stupendous novel of sexual experimentation and perversion.

Despite Home’s fantastic reputation as Crown Prince of Counter Culture writing and thought he had a hard time getting even the so called radical independent publishers to take this book on. They all appeared to fear litigation which given the obvious fictional nature of the work seems unlikely to occur. This is a fictional satire that explores text manipulation, sexual freedoms and gratification along with the art world and art education machinations that although different somewhat from the time portrayed in the book are still prevalent. Homes put out this video in an effort to get Art School Orgy published:

As in his other books Home does not compromise and never bows down to his readers. He pushes home the same points over and over again often employing the same language over and over again as our ‘scallywag’ hero is tied, whipped, buttplugged, branded, urinated on and more. Yes, it’s uncomfortable to read at times but despite the discomfort one carries on regardless.

Fifty Shades of Gray pales into insignificance when placed alongside Stewart Home’s Art School Orgy. Art School Orgy is more explicit and is better written too. It will eventually be seen up with The Marquis De Sade’s 120 Days of Sodom, Anne Desclos AKA Pauline Réage’s Story Of O & Samuel R. Delany’s Tides Of Lust.

Art School Orgy was seen as too scandalous to touch by dozens of ‘independent’ publishers and it was down to a tiny radical record label, New Reality Records, to finally get Stewart Home’s outrageous historical shocker published uncut, uncensored and out into the world.

Stewart Home has published 16 novels prior to Art School Orgy with Blow Job, Cunt and 69 Things To Do With A Dead Princess amongst them. The London Times said of 69 Things To Do With A Dead Princess “What a strange and marvelous novel.” Well Art School Orgy takes the novel, form and content, to a whole new level of ‘strange and marvelous’ add to that funny and joyous and shocking and your almost there!

Here’s a small extract from Art School Orgy, one of the less shocking passages but it will serve to whet your appetite:

‘Kitaj took a devilish delight in nipple clipping Boshier and Hockney together as they knelt across from each other with their wrists tied behind their backs. The dom used little birch rod love brushes across his slave’s backs to make them pull back from each other—stretching their nipples out as they did so.

“Don’t worry, Hockney,” Kitaj spat at his fellow art student as he took deep pleasure in lightly caning him, “your punishment will get way more intense than this once we’re in Hyde Park.”

Art School Orgy was published on the 9th of January 2023 by New Reality Records in a limited first edition paperback run of only 1,000 books. Get one whilst you can!
