It was the first snowfall of the winter, and Ellie was determined to make the most of it. Unfortunately, she needed to do one, crucial thing first. Pee. Leading the way down the condo stairs, she safely guided her owner out into the wondrous chill of a winter day.
Their building normally had a team of maintenance workers that handled snow removal, but they were clearly running behind because their sidewalks were untouched. Just how Ellie liked it.
She pulled hard right, then left, then right, then left again. Ricocheting from yellow spot to yellow spot, Ellie investigated the scent of every dog that dared to go potty outside of her home. She loved dogs, and was obsessed with play, but when she was locked inside, watching the world from her couch window, she would mean-girl bark at any and all dogs who walked by.
Approaching the crosswalk that led to Blackstone park, Ellie found a clean patch of icy snow to do her business. Scrunching her body into position, a passing car splashed into a slushy puddle, startling her focus. She abandoned her spot, and pulled her owner into the park.
The park was large, and consisted of four grassy quadrants that surrounded a decorative fountain. Ellie’s go to bathroom spot was in the southern quadrant by a fat oak tree. But since there was snow on the ground, the rules were different.
The entire park must be searched in order for Ellie to find her sacred pee spot.

Our dog is the opposite! She has always been a pee-mail spammer!
Ah ha! Our old Aussie would go back and forth across the yard for 10 minutes, AT LEAST! But if we took her and her bonded sister (both adopted as adults, not related or same breed) and let them RUN, she was a bit faster about it. They hated off leash parks but we took them behind the Air Force base. Good job on story!
I can totally picture this hilarious scene.
