Today was the day—the day of Willa’s dream wedding. Everything was as she had envisioned it when she was a child, as she had planned since the sixth grade. Even the person she was marrying was who she fantasized about all these years, which sent shivers down her spine.

Wearing a diaphanous low-cut dress with a crown of peach roses and a white baby’s breath on her head, she made her way down the church aisle to stand in front of an identically dressed woman. Smiling, full of her heart's joy at that precise moment, she took the other woman’s hand. As they said their vows to each other in front of God and the church, Willa couldn’t help but think about how blessed she was.

As Willa put her ring on her wife’s hand, she couldn’t believe how lucky she was. As Willa’s wife put a ring on her hand, she almost broke down in tears of gratitude that Pamela said yes. It was when they sealed their vows with a kiss that Willa felt the promise of forever, and knew they were meant to be.
