What true love really is!

Love love love

Many people think that the world is sick because we don't understand love.

We talk a lot about love, but generally it's in terms of an overwhelming feeling of ecstasy that lasts for a few months and is focused on someone's beauty, intelligence, or strength.

We have high ideals and refer to concepts like justice, equality, and rights, but somehow we avoid talking about the kind of love that would give life to any of these things.

In the grand sense, Westerners understand love best through Jesus Christ. Unfortunately, this has proven difficult because rational people can confuse an overcoming of faith in God with a neglect of understanding love itself.

We need a new philosophy of love--a secular religion--that is taught after news stories and incorporated into business practices and supply chains. We should put it on t-shirts and make it as common as saying "I'm trying to learn to swim."

It's no insult to say that we need to acknowledge that even though we're living in a culture soaked in romanticism, we need to explore more realistic ways of understanding and experiencing love.

We have problems understanding love, even though we've had plenty of crushes and heard plenty of love songs.

Love is a seven key constituent ingredients consisting of charity, love meansabove anything else benevolence, and gentleness.

Love isn't about an admiration for strength; it's about directing sympathy in a most unexpected directions. But what's messed up, lost, and in pieces can also express an interest in perfection.

To love is to devote an active charity towards the mistakes and aberrations one day we will all require.

We will be on our knees and we will need people to look past our evident failings.

Imagination is to love with imagination is to look beneath the surface where there may be rage, cynicism, brittleness, or transgression.

And to picture the suffering and pain that got a person to this place. Imagination also knows that we are all somewhere desperate.

There is precious little mercy, humility, tenderness, or grace in today's world. It's not enough to be right or just; we must be kind as well.

We need to know that everyone—even sinners—deserve our ongoing sympathy and mercy.

To forgive is to know that we are guilty as well. What we all are, we have no choice but to cut each other some slack.

We failed and were hasty and less than admirable; but that's no reason forever to withhold love.

We learn to forgive when we are no longer self righteous--that is when we're brave enough to fathom the darker sections of our own hearts.

Loyalty to love means being loyal to people even if the crowd disagrees outside of us. The mob may be cheering, but we continue on the same side with steadfastness and an unbuttoned faith.

When love overflows, it isn't about loving just one person--it encompasses the love of someone you've just met, of strangers in another land, of plants, of insects, etcetera. Patience is also important when embracing love.

We want others to meet our hopes right now, but true love means giving people the time to mature and develop.

If we can believe wholeheartedly in some of the above, it won't matter who we vote for or what our causes are.

As part of what is helping, we should be almost done with romantic.

Love by now should be setting our sights on the challenge of this sort of love.

Yet it's not surprising if we're still only at the beginning; we're just starting on the path to being human.

Love is a skill that we can learn, and relationships with calm and charm guide us through key issues.

The key to success in love is having good luck!

I hope you enjoyed reading this. Thank you! :)
