Part 1

Bryson saw her pass from the cereal aisle. She wore a black leather jacket, leggings, and a white crop top t-shirt with army boots. Her hair was curly and down to her shoulders. She had red lipstick on. His heart nearly stopped when he saw her. She was beautiful in his eyes. There was nothing that she needed to change about herself. The way she walked and the style of clothes she wore made him want to speak to her.

How do I catch up to her without seeming like a creep? Bryson overlooked his outfit before approaching. What will I say? He could see her searching for a taco kit while he was walking down the aisle. He wanted to hurry up and speak before she left to get something else. Just as he was about to open his mouth, his phone rang. He looked down at it, and it said, Sarah. When Bryson looked up, she was gone again. He hurried down the aisle, turned the corner, and bumped into her.

"Oh, I'm so sorry."

Her smile lit his heart into a flame. "Oh, you don't have to apologize."

"Um, I saw you a couple of aisles over, and you are so beautiful. I just had to ask, um, are you married?"

She shook her head, lifting her hand to show off her ring.

"Well, okay. That guy's lucky. What's your name, at least?"

She dug in her purse, "Here's my card. I'm a barber and my name's Kasey. Anytime you want a haircut, I charge $40, but your first cut is on the house." She licked her lips, and he immediately thought about what she would feel like against his skin.

"Thanks, I'm Bryson. I'll take you up on that offer," He said while touching his hair."

Kasey walked away, and he felt like his heart was leaving with her. How could I fall in love with someone I just met?

Part 2

During Bryson's drive home, all he could think about was her. The way she smiled had him in a chokehold. Her body was beautiful, her vibe was peaceful, and that's all he wanted in his life.

He pulled into the driveway, and Bryson saw his wife, Sarah, laughing with their kids while making dinner. Looking at them through the window made him so happy. He reflected on the best parts of his life, his family. Bryson and Sarah had been married for 12 years and had two beautiful kids; A son and a daughter. He wondered why he would ever want to be with anyone else or what came over him at the grocery store. He shook off his feelings and decided to join the family fun.

Later that evening, he lay in bed, thinking about Kasey. Just seconds before these thoughts, he was next to Sarah, giving her some good loving. Her body felt amazing, and her presence was welcoming, but he couldn't get Kasey off his mind. What was it? What was Bryson missing that he saw in Kasey? He grabbed his wallet off his nightstand and looked over her card.

Business Card

Bryson looked over his shoulder and saw Sarah quietly enjoying her beauty rest after their sexual encounter. He grabbed his phone and saved her phone number as "K The Barber." He sat his phone down and had flashbacks to their moment at the store. He turned towards Sarah and touched her arm. She backed up closer to inform him she was down for round two. He did what any man would do. Bryson gave her what she wanted.

Part 3

Kasey stood in the bathroom, wondering if she should cut her hair. She loved it long but also missed it being short. Her husband, Rocky, came into the bathroom and grabbed her from behind.

"What are you planning to do?"

She turned towards him and said, "I was honestly thinking about cutting it." Rocky grabbed the clippers and started cutting it off. Rocky worked side by side with Kasey. They both went to barber school and met when they were 18. They've been married for 13 years. They have a lot of similarities than differences. They have no kids, live life on the edge and travel as frequently as possible. It's not that Kasey doesn't want kids, but she wants to get further ahead in life before committing to something else.

Rocky came into Kasey's life when she least expected it. She had been an orphan all her life, and so had he. They bonded mostly over personal experiences, and their relationship quickly grew to a marriage level. They had a small wedding in Puerto Rico and invited a couple of friends. They didn't want much, just something simple. Rocky was Kasey's kind of man. He worked out religiously, took pride in learning new things, and Rocky made sure Kasey was loved. He wasn't hard to please, and neither was Kasey.

Kasey was soft with her words but had no trouble putting someone in their place. They had remarkable chemistry, and that's what made their relationship work.

Kasey found her love for hair when she was ten years old. The habit came when Kasey was at her grandfather's house and exploring what was underneath his bathroom sink. Let's just say her grandfather wasn't too thrilled when she came out, and he saw that all her hair was gone. Cutting hair became her therapy.

Part 4

Bryson woke up feeling rejuvenated from his rest. He was ready to head to work. Bryson was a surgeon and had the past two days off. He had five surgeries scheduled for today.

He showered, packed his lunch, and headed out the door by 6:30 am. As Bryson was driving, he noticed his first appointment wasn't till 8 am. Bryson always enjoyed getting to work an hour earl,y so he could prepare for his surgery. But he looked at Kasey's business card again, wondering if he could get his hair cut in time before anyone else. Plus, this was his excuse to see her. He turned on his GPS and noticed her job wasn't far from his job. It was ten minutes away.

Bryson pulled up and only saw one car in the parking lot. The open sign was on, and he went in without hesitation. The bell at the top of the door dinged, and there was soft music playing in the background. He saw no one in sight. The chairs aligned in the same direction, and the smell of barbicide rang in the atmosphere.

He could hear her feet approaching the front of the building. She had a short haircut, and Bryson's jaw dropped.

"Well, isn't it a nice surprise to see you here!"

"Wow, you cut your hair."

"Yeah, I thought it was best to give it a change. You like?"

"I think it suits you well." He looked into her eyes, and she looked away shyly.

"What brings you in today?" She said while draping the cape over him. She swirled him in front of the mirror.

"I was thinking of getting my waves back. What do you think?"

"It's your head, lol." She tilted his head, and his hair fell to the ground.

"I have to say something." He looked up at her but couldn't see her expression since she had his head pushed down."

"Sure, go ahead."

"When I met you the other day, I couldn't stop thinking about you. When you walked away, I wanted nothing more than to be around you. I know I'm overstepping boundaries, but I think you are beautiful, and I had to come to see you today."

She released his head and turned the clippers off. Bryson's heart fell to the floor. He wasn't sure if Kasey was going to cuss him out or escort him outside, but he couldn't let this moment pass without saying anything. He thought maybe it was a bad idea, especially since she had clippers in her hand. He turned around and saw her staring at him. She pushed his head back down and continued cutting.

"I'm sorry. I just... maybe I shouldn't have said anything." Bryson said.

"If I may say something, I gave you my card hoping you would show up, but I see you're married too."

Bryson cleared his throat, "I am. I mean, we both are."

Kasey swiveled the chair to have him facing her. Her boobs were in his face from trying to line him up. There was a slit in her shirt. He could see her black bra, and he readjusted because his mind started to create wild thoughts. Bryson did something he didn't expect from himself. He raised his hand from under the cape and slid his hand in between her breasts. Kasey moaned. Her skin was soft, and he pulled her on top of him. Bryson grabbed her face and kissed her. Their tongues collided perfectly with one another. His lips traveled to her neck. Bryson saw all her tattoos and kissed them.

"Don't kiss them too much; he'll notice." Kasey realized the sign was on, and the door was unlocked. She removed herself from Bryson, turned the sign-off, and locked the door. Kasey turned off the lights, grabbed his hand, and took him to the back. As soon as she turned the corner, Rocky was walking in. Kasey immediately dropped Bryson's hand and ran to turn on the lights. She rushed him to the front and told him to sit. Her heart was sinking faster than a ship. Guilt immediately took hold of her. What was Kasey thinking? Wasn't she happy with Rocky?
