“Curious. Your presence is impossible.”

Everything swirled in a blindingly white haze. Death’s not so bad.

“A simple drone form.”

The words bellowed through Gunnarsson's skull, followed by an immense flashing pain. No…This is not death. If there is a god, kill me now.

A hooded figure stood before him, features lost in the endlessly twirling folds of black robes. It dominated the endless expanse, simultaneously everywhere and nowhere.

Pain seared again across his mind as if barbed tentacles clawed through his ears and within the very cellular structure of his brain.

“And like the others, you must be crushed.”
