Trapped: A Nightmare in the Wilderness

The Hunt in the Woods

By RTDS MediaPublished 2 years ago 4 min read

Jessica had always been the adventurous type, always seeking out new thrills and excitement. So when her friends Walter and Angelina suggested they go on a camping trip deep in the woods, she was all in.

The three of them packed their bags and set out early on a Friday morning, eager to get a head start on their weekend adventure. As they drove deeper into the forest, the trees seemed to close in around them, blocking out the sun and casting everything in a eerie, otherworldly shadow.

"Are you sure this is the right way?" Jessica asked, a note of nervousness creeping into her voice.

Walter and Angelina exchanged a look, but neither of them answered. They had been following a vague map and handwritten directions that a stranger had given them, and now they were starting to doubt the wisdom of their decision.

Despite their misgivings, they pressed on, and eventually they arrived at a clearing where they set up camp. They spent the afternoon exploring the area, marveling at the beauty of the surrounding wilderness.

But as the sun began to set, a feeling of unease settled over them. The forest seemed to come alive with strange noises and rustlings, and they couldn't shake the feeling that they were being watched.

That night, they huddled around the campfire, trying to stay warm and calm their nerves. But as the hours ticked by, the noises in the woods grew louder and more ominous. And then, just as the moon reached its zenith in the sky, they heard a bloodcurdling shriek that sent shivers down their spines.

Jessica was the first to bolt upright, her heart pounding in her chest. "What was that?" she whispered, her voice trembling.

Walter and Angelina exchanged another look, their faces pale in the firelight. "I don't know," Walter said, his voice barely above a whisper. "But I think we should get out of here."

They quickly gathered their things and packed up their campsite, trying to move as quietly as possible. But as they made their way through the woods, they realized they were being followed. Something was lurking in the shadows, watching their every move.

They started to run, their feet pounding the forest floor as they tried to escape whatever was after them. But no matter how fast they moved, they couldn't shake the feeling of being hunted.

Just when they thought they couldn't run any further, they stumbled upon an old, abandoned cabin. Without hesitation, they burst through the door and barricaded themselves inside.

They huddled in the corner, trying to catch their breath as they listened to the sounds of whatever was outside scratching at the door and windows. And then, just as suddenly as it had appeared, the noise stopped.

They waited for what felt like an eternity, until finally they couldn't take the tension any longer. Walter grabbed a flashlight and cautiously made his way to the door, his heart in his throat.

He slowly eased the door open, shining the light out into the darkness. And there, in the beam of the flashlight, they saw a figure standing a few feet away.

It was a woman, her face twisted in a grotesque grimace, her eyes glowing with a sinister light. And as they watched in horror, she let out another bloodcurdling shriek and lunged at them.

They ran back into the cabin and barricaded the door again, trying to catch their breath. They knew they couldn't stay there forever, but they had no idea how to escape.

As the hours ticked by, they began to lose hope.

They knew they couldn't stay in the cabin forever, but they had no idea how to escape. They were trapped, at the mercy of whatever monstrous creature was stalking them outside.

As the night dragged on, they took turns trying to get some rest. But every time Jessica closed her eyes, she was plagued by nightmares of the grotesque woman who had attacked them. She couldn't shake the feeling that they were all going to die in that cabin, buried in the depths of the woods where no one would ever find them.

As dawn approached, they knew they had to come up with a plan. They couldn't just sit there waiting to be attacked again. They had to find a way out of there.

Walter suggested trying to make a run for it, but Angelina pointed out that they had no idea which way to go. They had been following a map and handwritten directions that a stranger had given them, but in the chaos of their escape, they had lost it.

Just when they were starting to lose hope, they heard a faint noise outside. It sounded like someone was calling their names.

They rushed to the window and peered out, straining to see through the darkness. And there, in the dim light of dawn, they saw a group of people approaching.

It was a rescue team, sent to find them after they had been reported missing. They had been searching for days, following a hunch and the faintest of trails.

Jessica and her friends burst into tears as they were led out of the cabin and into the safety of the rescue team's arms. They had survived the night, but they knew they would never be able to forget the horrors they had faced in the woods.

They never did find out what had been stalking them that night, but they knew they never wanted to go back to that place again. They vowed to never go camping in the woods again, and instead stick to the safety and comfort of civilization.
