There Can Only Be One
For L.C. Schäfer Dollar Challenge - Dead Inside But Caffeinated (October/November edition)

Introduction
This is for L.C. Schäfer's November Challenge which you can find out about here.
This is a piece of fiction, if you want to take it that way, but I think most of you won't. There may be a poem that comes from this prompt but this has to be fiction.
The music is "Magic Fairy Princess" by Spirit for obvious reasons.
The prompt is:
She was like a shot of espresso
-Andrew Garfield
There Can Only Be One
Sometimes as a writer, you feel like a flat tire or a dead battery. This is not writer's block. There is nothing there.
Motivation is zero, ideas are zero, and the electricity, gas and water have been turned off because you haven't paid the bills (metaphorically).
And then it happens.
She calls you or sends you a text. You could say she was like a shot of espresso but it is so much more than that.
She is your Muse, and you haven't got a clue how it works but she is the ignition to your imagination, the spark that sets your ideas alight.
You that something will come eventually but with her it is immediate. You cannot explain this magic as your veins become filled with electricity ready to fly from your fingers to create a story that you have never even thought of before.
Sometimes you worry that your Muse may leave you, but it is a lifetime relationship. This is an amazingly powerful and special relationship, and words and conversations and even better, hugs with her superpower your creativity.
This story is possible because of my Muse and I know some people would love to have someone like her in their lives, I guess I just got very lucky.
When I first met my Muse I didn't know she was my Muse but with her love and encouragement, the stories flowed from my fingers and I grew to realise what the reason was for that, and I will be forever grateful for my daily shot of espresso from her.
