The Zoo

Hello, and welcome! If you will follow me through the door to the left, we will begin our tour.

Mankind has always needed to feel superior in their environment, even if they have to fake it. If we are not conquering something, then what is the point of us? We see this lesson repeated throughout history- constant war, killing animals for sport, the destruction of one culture in favor of another, dehumanizing other humans. The list is as monumental as it is sad. One just has to look at the long standing, cross culture abuse of bulls in order to see this in action. First, we humans tortured an otherwise peaceful creature, then pretended we were superior to it as we watched it torn apart or otherwise subdued by a clearly lessor human. We pretended these bulls are inherently violent and stupid so that we justify their treatment.

It wasn't until all the animals were gone, and all the civilizations that were considered inferior were destroyed that we learned our lesson: that we humans are only animals, and are by no means more or less special based on our ability to hurt other animals.

There are still some people who believe we are superior, and those citizens still enjoy killing animals via virtual reality. Thankfully, however, those people are few and far between; relics of a time long past.

And we're walking...

Why did the human race destroy a once beautiful world for such trivial matters as "pride" and create fallacies such as "manifest destiny" when they knew it would be the destruction of the planet we called "Earth"? Why was it that the truth was ignored, even when the earth was literally boiling? Was it simply for money? Power? Superiority? Lastly, why was it that the very people who destroyed the world due to these trivial reasons were the only ones to escape the hell they created?

These are questions which plagued our new society for many generations. They all lead to the question- would we have found the peace and understanding we have accomplished in this society had we women not taken the reins for good? Many other of our female society members also wonder what good it is to have control over a few hundred thousand human survivors, and only a dozen other animals that survived the trip, but there isn’t much we can do about that at this point.

All ready? Ok, we're walking...You will begin to see on your right the extra-large area, where our moderately violent men have created a rather fine, yet antique civilization. Any of these men are able to deposit their sperm, which can be purchased in the gift shop, along with a full statistics sheet!

Thankfully, none of us miss the violence of the male of our species anymore. In the beginning, there was a few attempts to free them from their confines. They felt they needed men to be a functioning part of our society in order for us to survive. Slowly, however, we women realized that we had none but a biological need for men. Thanks to the wonderful invention of Mary Stever, we were actually able to ascertain the risks of violence in a human brain, and, at the age of 10, those with high risk of being violent, especially those who have exhibited the first warning signs, are placed here, in this large human zoo.

If you look to your left, you will see the moderately violent women's area. These women have created a lovely society indeed! Many of them have put their violent tendencies towards artistic endeavors, which they will trade to the men during their bi-monthly markets in order to obtain sperm. The children born here are tested for violent tendencies every year and, as soon as the nonviolent children are able to leave, are sent out for adoption to the main populace. Of course, these children are taken away immediately if even the slightest indication of abuse is observed! We cannot risk these precious children DEVELOPING violent tendencies thanks to their mother's abuse, after all! As you can see from the monitors, they are carefully watched 656 hours a day, to ensure the safety of their children.

Some may view this as the cruelest practice we have- taking children away from their mothers. I think we can all agree that this is very difficult, but also necessary. These women can always earn time with their children through public service, and the majority of them take that chance on a regular basis. The men are given that same opportunity but, sadly, almost none of them take that deal. We find this very sad indeed. The men who are allowed in general society have all proven to be excellent partners and fathers, after all, so we know they are capable of it! I see you nodding there, sir! I am glad you agree.

And we are walking...

To your left you will see the very violent female colony, and the same for men on your right. As you can see, they have very little in the way of architecture or society. Oh dear...as you can see on the female side we have a murdered woman in our view. I am sorry if this shocks you...I know it is hard to see such violence. Unfortunately, it is the hazards of keeping them together. A full investigation is most likely underway- and yes Thomas is telling me over my headset that they are tracking down the killer as we speak. The woman or women responsible will be sent into isolation until they are deemed safe again. I see the disappointment on your faces...but I assure you this isolation is nothing at all like the horrible prisons you have read about from Earth. They are given a home, a yard, and whatever they ask for that is safe for them. They are even allowed to cook if fire is not one of their triggers. To the rooms ahead of you on the left or right you can see those who are in isolation- but I warn you it is usually a gruesome sight that you cannot un-see. Sadly, at this time, we have discontinued the surrogacy program here, as it was deemed to0 dangerous due to past issues and disputes. Still, there is hope, gentlemen!
