Every stone that made up the walls was of a different shape, and yet they fit together perfectly. This was not all that spoke to the unnatural origin of the well, for none knew of its genesis. The waters though were sweet, and so folk came from all around to drink from it. Yet, never would beasts of the field or fowl of the air, no matter how dry a season had been.
The years went by and all who drank grew strong, but never again would any other waters satisfy their thirst. So they traded their freedom for pleasure.
