Deviaun strode through the hallway of the Order in her hand she held a simple leather-bound book with Latin words illegibly written across the top. The Sanguine Queen had a look of sure devious delight playing upon her features. What had she just done? Would the spell be her very undoing? With every step she took down the darkened corridor the echo of her boot-heels reverberated off the damp walls. A flicker of torchlight was all the illumination within the hall. Finally with a pause she twisted her head to the left, and lifting the book quickly she slammed it hard upon the bricks. The resounding smack brought a decadent smile to her lips. They twisted upward like a knife splitting meat to capture the apples of her cheeks. Such a wicked grin only gave more sinister meaning to what she had done, and finally the utterance of the witch’s voice fled free of her decadent pout,

“Now, when I say be gone you won’t mess with me will you?” The vermin she had squished was a large brown mouse, and quickly it fell to land beside her shoe. The evidence of her wicked ways was easy to figure out. Mercy was nowhere to be found within the woman’s black heart. She was the epitome of an evil enchantress, and her spells were the only thing that brought her any joy. Being the leader of the Order of Malevolence was a daunting task, and weakness could never be shown. For to show that she had any shred of morality, or the ability to care would make the rest of the Sanguine family shudder in delight. Usurping her authority had been the sole goal of her twin sister for so many years. Deviaun had resolved to never speak her name ever again. The red-haired vixen was called nothing more than the Vicious one. It was this very situation that caused Deviaun to cast that spell. Hoping that with the new birth of a creature would bring about a plague on all mankind would absolve her of the problem that Vicious had sprinted upon her.

There was a split in the family, and half had chosen to follow the lead of the true Queen while the other half had chosen to follow after her twin. Two halves to the perfect whole it made Deviaun twice as vigilant, but there was some hope you see. Vicious had come up pregnant, and this was a weakness that mean somewhere love would be found within her wretched soul. Deviaun had chosen to necromance a dead woman to become her newest minion, and Malaise was what she called her. The twin to her existing daughter, Malady, Malaise would infect Vicious child with a disease so strong that the child would never rise to overthrowing her aunt.

Continuing in her stride Deviaun walked towards the end of the hall to the room where she had been writing the Confessions of the Dark Priesthood for several years. If Vicious ever did successfully overthrow Deviaun her daughters would reveal her weaknesses, and all the weaknesses of the royal family. She would never be removed from her powerful position without making sure that they all paid severely. Not even the Hunting One could cause her to stop in her mission. Sure the woman loved him, but love was a condition that made one entirely too movable. She had not risen to her heights as the Queen of Malevolence because she had been merciful. No, a true Sanguinarian she had done everything possible to maintain the title from the moment she married The Dark Priest. It was a marriage of convenience, and as soon as it ended Deviaun was pleased that he willfully relinquished all rights, but her twin had been envious. Now she delighted in knowing that behind that iron door was a plethora of truths to be unleashed. With the birth of Malaise who now rested in the birthing room Deviaun felt pleased. The dead mouse was only the beginning. Soon enough many more would be undone, and she could hardly contain her excitement.

Raven locks cascaded to frame her heart-shaped face. She was a beautiful woman. Eyes the color of sapphires sparkled, and lips like summer wine still maintained that wicked grin. The book was a Necronomican. A so-called book of the dead, and Deviaun had followed the rules to a T. Now all she had to do was wait for Vicious to make a move, and when she did Deviaun would be happy to see her fail.

“Now, let’s see what happens next,” She whispered as she pushed the door open. Much to her surprise Vicious was standing inside. The opposing red-haired female was just as beautiful, and where Deviaun’s eyes were deep blue hers were amber in hue. She remained leant against a shelf of books, and appeared to have been waiting for Deviaun to come in.

“Well, hello sister, “ She purred the words at her the moment Deviaun shut the door. Devi’s eyes narrowed, and frowning she responded,

“What do you want, Vi?” Walking towards her desk she slammed the Necronomican atop the desk, and placing both palms against it she stared at her.

“Oh, is that anyway to greet one’s twin, Devi? Surely, you know I’ve come to give the good news.” Vi’s own lips twisted to form a half-grin.

“What news is that, Vi? That you are a whore who is knocked up once again?” Deviaun’s eyes flickered in delight as she insulted her traitorous sister. The elder of the two she was a bit more powerful than Vicious had ever hoped to be. It came from her experience with all the spell casting.

“Well, how did you know? Scratch that I already know. Devi, I’ve come to tell you I will be relinquishing my title with ease. Now, I know you’ve been plotting, but I’ve decided to form my own coven. Good bye.”
